MARVEL ONE-SHOT Actor Matt Gerald Joins ANT-MAN

Now that filming for The Avengers: Age of Ultron is in full swing across the globe, Marvel Studios is gearing up for production next month on its "Phase Three" launcher, Ant-Man, in Atlanta, Georgia. According to the ever-reliable Deadline, the latest name attached to the Edgar Wright-directed adaptation is Matt GeraldBest known for his roles in Avatar, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Showtime's Dexter, the actor will apparently play "one of the bad guys," but his character may be already established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Matt Gerald played 'White Power Dave' opposite Sir Ben Kingsley in the Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King, which featured on Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray. However, the casting report fails to acknowledge Gerald's minor role in the short film. Therefore, it is unknown if he will play the same character in Ant-Man. Anyhow, Matt Gerald joins an ever-growing cast that so far includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Corey Stoll, with Patrick Wilson and Michael Douglas. Directed by Edgar Wright from his screenplay, which he co-wrote with Joe Cornish, Ant-Man is scheduled for release on July 17, 2015. What do you think?

I hope this movie is on par with Iron Man. It can be, but will it be?

And if there's one thing to guarantee, this movie will be visually amazing. I'm not a big fan of 3D, but this should look great in it.

Jesus, Ant-Man will start filming a month after Avengers 2 started filming? Are they both coming out the same year?

Ant-Man's really shaping up to be a special CBM! I think the potential chemistry between Douglas and Rudd in itself could be gold!

Cool. I'm kinda indifferent to the Ant-Man movie. Know next to nothing about the character. Definitely will see it, as I like Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lily.

Could it be that "White Power Dave" is David Cannon? Also known as Whirlwind. He tends to go head-to-head with Pym & Van Dyne a good bit.

White Power Dave??? Any "Dave" characters you know off in the Marvel Universe, or maybe just a small role in which he encounters Ant Man, gets arrested and is sent to prison? Ant Man movie takes place before the events of All hail the King, or even Iron Man 3??

@goldenone, comic books are funny man. Maybe you should read some some time.Spiderman quips wolverine intimidates and awkwardly fumbles his way through being a professor, losing the comedy wouldn't be a closer adaption to source material. If you prefer serious dark movies then fine, but they aren't making these movies something the comics aren't.
