UPDATE: Two Actors Eyed For 'Baron Von Strucker' Role In THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Apparently, Marvel are interested in two actors (whose identity you'll find after the jump) for the role of HYDRA leader, 'Baron Von Strucker' in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. We also have details on how Quicksiler and Scarlet Witch will be introduced in the movie. Check it out!

Latino-Review (who I would once again like to remind you have had pretty much all of their recent scoops confirmed by trades like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter not too long after dropping them) have revealed some very interesting information about The Avengers: Age of Ultron today. Apparently, Marvel are searching for a Caucasian actor between 40-50 described as a "PHYSICALLY IMPOSING MAN". The role? Baron Von Strucker, one of the main leaders of HYDRA (which seemingly confirms speculation that the organisation will resurface in Captain America: The Winter Soldier). They add that, "in the film Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch work for Baron Von Strucker." However, that's not all! Marvel are apparently looking at Marton Csokas (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and Dougray Scott (Strike Back) for the role, but no offer has been made at this point; they're simply two of the actors that the studio are looking at. How do you guys feel about this news?

UPDATE: HitFix have some additional details on Baron Von Strucker's role in the sequel:

"In "Age Of Ultron," Baron Von Strucker is the initial threat, the guy they're fighting at the start of the film. He does not have a major ongoing role in the film, but he is responsible for bringing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into contact with the Avengers in the first place, since they start the film working either with or or the Baron. If you look at this like a James Bond movie, Von Strucker's the bad guy they'll take care of in the pre-credits sequence before they move into the main story. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch have a complicated journey in this film, and the question of whether they're good or bad is one of the big things driving the movie overall."

Interesting, this kind of spoils another upcoming Marvel movie though. Still, I can't wait to see how Whedon weaves all this together.

This kinda fits with my theory that they are gonna have an organization or villain team (of which Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are members) throughtout the movie until the end with a big showdown with Ultron.

Von Strucker possibly the villain in Cap 3? Cause I can't see him being a villain in Age of Ultron when we already have, you've guessed it, Ultron.

I remember hearing something about Masters of Evil being in thesequel, back when the first film was coming out. Can't remember where from. Though HYDRA would make more sense, what with them already being established in the MCU.
Interested in seeing how this all unfolds. I figured Q & SW would start out as villians. I'm hoping that Ultron and Scarlet Witch have some kind of relationship that is central to the plot.
I like the fact that she's all about Chaos and he's all about order. Also, there's the Vision thing to set up.
And I like my Ultron to be obsessively infatuated with a woman. If it's not gonna be Wasp, then it would make sense for him to be obsessed with Wanda.
That would make the film interesting. And I think with a sequel, you have to go deeper and darker, like Empire did, after Star Wars.
A fvcked up love story, character, psychology and philosophy. That's what this film needs.

Vibranium stolen from Wakanda by Wanda@Pietro that is forged into Ultron's main body to make him more or less "indestructible". Ultron obviously goes haywire wants to kill everybody,Wanda@Pietro want to help fix what they helped create and join Avengers.

Sounds interesting! I think it's important for SW and QS to be connected with a bad guy and since it can't be Magneto, Baron is a good choice. He could have raised them or something. He can even be their father, they need the daddy issues!

I did not see that coming.......WOW!!

Preliminary thought: S.H.I.E.L.D. and the US government is in a fight with HYDRA, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are working for HYDRA, Rhodey gets severely injured/killed, Tony builds Ultron as a prototype armor, Ultron goes rogue, Avengers have to fight hi.

Although.....I am still very concerned about overcrowdedness....
