Road To INFINITY WAR: Rare AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Concept Art Reveals Alternate Costumes For The Team
Earth's Mightiest Heroes look a lot different in Infinity War but what about the changes made to the team in Age of Ultron? Here, we look at alternate designs for Scarlet Witch, Captain America, and more.
Following in the footsteps of The Avengers was never going to be an easy task but with Joss Whedon back at the helm, Avengers: Age of Ultron gave it a good try back in 2015. Introducing new heroes and a terrifying villain in the form of Ultron, the sequel brought an awful lot to the table and generated a lot of excitement among fans. While Thanos will no doubt be an even more formidable threat in Infinity War, we're now taking a look back at the movie by sharing some incredible concept art.
Today, we're finally taking a look at each member of the superhero team (minus The Vision, who you can find by clicking here) and the work which went into coming up with their respective costumes.
As well as startlingly different designs for characters like Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, we have interesting takes on the likes of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Nick Fury. There's even casual wear for the team, something which is definitely surprising to see them all wearing. So, click either one of the buttons below to check out this amazing batch of concept art...
The Twins
When we first meet Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, they're in the custody of Baron Von Strucker and that means no fancy superhero costumes! That explains why The Twins look so rough here!
Marvel clearly put a lot of work into coming up with the perfect look for the Scarlet Witch and while some of these are very grounded, others bear a striking resemblance to her comic book counterpart!
Poor old Quicksilver didn't last for very long in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's interesting that Joss Whedon never seemingly considered something a little closer to the source material.
Captain America looks very much like he did on screen here and it's fair to say this suit was a definite upgrade from what we got in The Avengers. In fact, it's arguably his best big screen costume to date.
Thor
Well, this is a very different look for the God of Thunder! While it's presumably casual look for Thor, it's not what we're used to seeing but would have been interesting to see on screen.
Iron Man
A look at late designs Iron Man's Mark 43 armour (there are differences between the two if you inspect them closely), this was a pretty cool take on the hero but his Avengers: Infinity War duds are better!
Avengers branded pants for the Jade Giant? As you can see, Marvel mulled over at least a couple of different designs which would have explained how Bruce Banner could avoid exposing himself!
Black Widow is not a character it's hard to get wrong but it would have been very interesting seeing her suit glowing red as opposed to the blue design we ended up seeing in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
With S.H.I.E.L.D. dissolved, Hawkeye was given a slightly more comic accurate costume for The Avengers sequel and these images show the work which went into the process of updating his look.
Nick Fury
No longer the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury needed a new look by the time Avengers: Age of Ultron concluded and these show a couple of alternate costumes for the fan-favourite spy.
Earth's Mightiest Heroes are given the opportunity for some downtime in Avengers Tower in Age of Ultron and these designs show what casual costumes for the team may have looked like.
