An Older Batman for SUPERMAN/BATMAN?

An Older Batman for SUPERMAN/BATMAN?

WB is apparently looking at actors in their mid-40's to play the next Batman. Who you might say? Grab some salt and check out the article!

According to BATMAN-ON-FILM, several different sources have reported to them that the Batman who will feature in SUPERMAN/BATMAN will be older, and around mid-40's.

The website then seemingly suggests that WB is looking at Josh Duhamel, Jude Law, Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin, Jon Hamm, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Jim Caviezel, etc.

So pretty much every decent looking late thirties-forties actor!

Take it with a grain of salt, but what do you guys think?

Depends on what kind of old we are talking about?

Old enough to raise a Robin? Yes. Gordons age? No.

Mid-40's? I thought Nolan's batman was old. Batman needs to be around Superman's age

Superman is 33.
Batman needs to be UNDER 40 and not have a Robin yet.

If they are going with an older Batman, why aren't they bringing in Bale?

I mean come on! You'd be a leg up with having an established character that basically everyone considers to be the best version of the character. You can expand the universe to connect with various points brought up in MoS to speed up the process of getting the DCCU up and running.

WB is already breaking the "no superpower" rule with Arrow, why cant they do the same with the Nolanverse?

Forthas where are you??!!

@Jollem

If the story is legit and if Caviezal gets it, that joke would be heard round the world.

Actually, the source doesn't claim that WB is looking at those names. It just claims WB is looking at a 40 something Batman, and the author lists those names as some fan-favorite possibilities.

Batman needs to be in his late 20's.

I think it should be Tyler Hoechlin.

The only thing he has to work on is his voice.

I don't believe this. If it was true then they would just pay for Bale to come back. Also if this is true, then why did Tyler Hoechlin screen test?

christian [frick]ing bale

Just keep Bale. I dont see the problem. Just pull him out of retirement or some shit. JGL's character has Gotham taken care of, so he'll be free to help Supes out. The new Superman could easily fit into Nolan Batman's universe

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I WAS RIGHT!!!!

MATT DAMON PLZ

or Jim Caviezel

Why go for an older Bats? I don't get it. Make him around his early 30's so he can keep playing Batman in the future.

On the Joe Mangy thing, if he can do a suave playboy voice I think he's be good. Dude is built like a truck already.

Dempsey, I'd rather not see as Batman. I'm sure he suites a different hero or maybe even Maxwell Lord

Karl Urban. I haven't seen Dredd yet but I've seen the scowl. Maybe after I see him in it I'll change my mind.

[frick] just keep Bale damn it!
WB should just release an audience poll.

I could see an older batman joining up with Supes..makes sense given that maybe he'd be able to stand his ground with Friggin SUPERMAN only AFTER he's beaten the entirety of his OWN rogue gallery...

Perhaps a "fully equipped" batcave...

I'm lookin at you GIANT PENNY!!!

I am also hoping for someone a little younger than 40-ish. I just think a younger Batman would play well off of an already young Superman.

They are [frick]ing retarded if they go with an older Batman and don't bring in Bale.

Its a waste of [frick]ing time and effort to cast a new older Batman when you have a perfect one waiting on the side that's already made billions.
