In an article about the old news of ladies, Alice Eve, Emily Blunt, & Keira Knightley, who are said to be considered for the lead in The First Avenger: Captain America...

The site, The Fan Carpet, have posted a pretty accurate synopsis for the Captain America movie. Now I don't how big of a site, The Fan Carpet, is but check it out.

"Based on the Marvel Comics character from World War II. A brave, yet mild-mannered young soldier named Steve Rogers, volunteers to undergo a series of experiments for a US army Super Soldier program. The military succeeds in transforming him into a human weapon, but quickly decide that their Super Soldier is far too expensive of a creation to risk in combat. So, they decide to put him to use as an army celebrity and parade him across Europe to boost morale by performing in USO shows for American troops. He is even given a costume that bear the colors of Old Glory for the stage. Then, when a Nazi plot reveals itself Rogers must rise up and become the First Avenger, in order to save his country. Steve Rogers becomes Captain America and he earns his way into the hearts and souls of every American, bringing hope and justice to a war-weary nation. Later, during a mission to Germany to stop his archenemy - The Red Skull, from launching rockets at the allies, Captain America sacrifices himself and winds up frozen in ice for almost six decades! Revived, Steve Rogers now must join forces with new heroes and become an Avenger of the modern age."

Sounds pretty accurate don't you think? We shall know sooner than think, when Marvel releases official info on The First Avenger: Captain America.

There's nothing new about it, we already knew he'd be made into a USO spectacle, and common sense would dictate that he would go up against his archenemy at some point.

What I want to know is how long did they plan for him to be a performer.

MAYBE.. They tell him that they want him to do the USO thing until they duplicate the same successful serum. And he jumps the gun by going on a mission anyway.

THAT.. could explain how the military has so many unstable serums, because they did so many test in WW2 trying to duplicate it.

AND.. SHIELD now has all the serums in a facility or something.

hmm

His USO outfit should closely resemble this, with Cap proudly flapping his Old Glory in Reddy's mush!

I know I posted this on another thread, its the last time I promise! I just liked the addition of the star in this one!

@Canknucklehead

I disagree. I think the opening of the Avengers movie should be them finding Cap'. Personally, I would like to see the dramatic scene of Steve Rogers being revived and totally freaking out and not knowing where he is.

That manip is awesome! I just think the part of his mask that's around his eyes should be a little bit wider, but it's a great design for the modern cap costume. The A that's also an eagle and the side wings look great!

Nah, if they do something high tech it'll be lame. They need to just stay loyal, its the only hope for the film. Cap's a cheesy character, best to just make him a fan service.

I hope that the USO thing is a rumour because it's an awful idea. As IGN put it...

"Once Steve gains his powers, he should head out into battle and start clobbering Nazis. Frankly, we're a little worried by the revelation that Cap will serve as a reluctant USO performer rather than a soldier for a portion of the film. This seems like one of those same needless deviations that derailed the Wolverine movie. Perhaps the filmmakers can find a proper use for this new plot point, but we have our doubts that keeping Cap away from the action is a wise decision."

'Nuff said.

This isn't the synopsis. Partially due to sentence structure, and partially due to content. The movie won't reveal the ending in such a blatant manner, and consists only of info we know already.
DCMarvelFreshman
DCMarvelFreshman - 3/26/2010, 4:22 PM
I think the USO is a good idea, and it's NOT a rumor, director said it himself.

I think since hes so valuable, and he wants to go out fight so bad, they let him do the USO thing, which is as close to the army as they want him to be.

While he has to wait to fight, they try to recreate the serum to continue the idea of a super soldier army.

But Cap's destiny to fight, and now being able to do an actual mission, he proves himself to be a true Avenger. Coming in contact with multiple characters.

To me, this is like a real classic tale.
Paulley
Paulley - 3/26/2010, 4:24 PM
Yea agreed as above.. it sound like the plot and conclusion of the whole movie.

"Later, during a mission to Germany to stop his archenemy - The Red Skull, from launching rockets at the allies, Captain America sacrifices himself and winds up frozen in ice for almost six decades! Revived, Steve Rogers now must join forces with new heroes and become an Avenger of the modern age."

frankly this bit wouldn't be included if this was a real synopsis

Cool..love the photo shop pic. Chris Evans is a much better choice than some of the others but would still love....JENSEN FOR CAP!!
Paulley
Paulley - 3/26/2010, 4:29 PM
one thing i do like about this is that they have left a gap where Cap has been a front line soldier for an actual amount of time before getting to the rocket

I will be immensely pissed off if they make it his first mission that he gets after going AWOL on the USO show where he gets frozen.
DCMarvelFreshman
DCMarvelFreshman - 3/26/2010, 4:43 PM
@Paulley I'm with you on that on. Pullin' that 90s crap.

But I think that the Red Skull/missal thing will be the main mission, while doing smaller ones on the way there.

MF: Oh yeah, I forgot that it was Johnston who said that! I guess it makes sense that they'd want to keep him out of harm's way but I hope they dont spend too much time on that...perhaps the Red Skull's actions will be the reason why they're forced to send him to war?

I just hope they balance this movie well. I'm all up for them having part of the film in the present but apart from possible flashback's in future sequels, this is their one and only chance to do WWII! Hopefully they'll also skip on a few years to show that he's been fighting for years rather than making his confrontation and subsequent freezing his one and only mission!

Pauley, they did that with the 1990's Cap movie. His first mission he gets frozen. It's crazy.

Also, I am against this whole USO thing. But, it can work on the basis of the Cap stories from long ago. Wherever he goes posing as a soldier and going on secret missions for the Government. But this movie, it's a USO performer. It could work. But, I agree with Pauley, it shouldn't be his first mission. I also, don't like the fact that it's the Skull who launches the Rocket. I want it to be Baron Zemo. I can't be picky about everything though. There are so many loose ends. So many. All I can do is just speculate and wait. Also, what JoshW posted, something rings to my mind what the director said About Cap's Costume. If we really are ashamed of Cap in a red white and blue costume on screen and have to come up with this USO thing, do we really believe it's gonna work? We as comic fans get so picky. There are just some details about things you shouldn't change. It's difficult as it is trying to just make a movie on the big screen period. I hope for our sakes as comic fans that this plan works.
