We learned this week that Brie Larson (Room) has emerged as the frontrunner to play Captain Marvel, and while the Oscar winning actress has yet to sign on the dotted line, it sounds like she'll definitely end up taking on the role of Carol Danvers in the MCU. As you can tell from the video below, one person who seems particularly excited about that is Captain America: Civil War star Chris Evans.
During a panel at Wizard World Philadelphia this weekend, the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (it definitely feels like Cap has overtaken Iron Man in terms of popularity at this point) was asked how he feels about her possibly casting, and said: "I just heard about that. I really hope that happens! I love Brie Larson. We did a movie together back in '09, Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I cannot say enough about Brie Larson. I think she's phenomenal, and I really hope that happens."
With Captain Marvel expected to appear in Avengers: Infinity War before her own solo movie in 2019, Evans will get chance to spend some time with Larson again a little later this year when shooting begins. That's assuming she says yes, and we'll hopefully hear some official news on that front soon.
