Bleeding Cool are reporting that Geoff Johns and Jim Lee will work together for the very first time on a new Justice League comic when things are restarted with all titles going back to "No.1" after Flashpoint.

It will feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and several other characters following the current Flashpoint crossover. It’s the return of the World’s Greatest Superheroes to the book for the first time in years.

Apparently the series will begin around September. Notice there will be no subtitle.."International".."Of America", just Justice League. Both Johns and Lee have been incredibly popular figures in comics for many years now, with Johns taking an active role in DC's cinematic offerings too. No more info is currently available for this new comic, but one thing is for sure, it should be worth waiting for!

Update: USA Today have some more info on this. Justice League #1 will hit shelves August 31st, and it appears the team will consist of Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Here is an excerpt from their article..

Johns promises a focus on the interpersonal relationships within DC's trademark superteam. "What's the human aspect behind all these costumes?" he says. "That's what I wanted to explore."

In September, more than 50 more first issues will debut, introducing readers to stories that are grounded in each character's specific legend but also reflect today's real-world themes and events. Lee spearheaded the redesign of more than 50 costumes to make characters more identifiable and accessible to comic fans new and old.

"We looked at what was going on in the marketplace and felt we really want to inject new life in our characters and line," says Dan DiDio, who co-publishes DC with Lee. "This was a chance to start, not at the beginning, but at a point where our characters are younger and the stories are being told for today's audience."

Original 7. And look, I like Geoff Johns but he's [frick]ing up the DC universe. They should've gotten Grant Morrison.

Definitely going to check it out only because of Lee's art.

Forget about Johns writing it, with Lee drawing it I reckon a #1 is all we will get!

I guess this means that none of the big guns are going to well die or disappear after flashpoint

I'm excited, I love both Lee and Johns. I'm wondering when the new JLI comic is supposed to come out.

@Intruder, you are a bitch troll. We get that you're a Marvel fanboy, if you don't like DC stay away from the articles. Now get back over to Quesada, his dick's getting dry.

Yeah, I'd take Johns over Quesada any day of the week. At least he brought us Sinestro Corps War. Still, get him off the creative staff.

@Intruder Lol, yeah, I'm totally crying because I give a [frick] what a nerdy 20-something thinks of me. Maybe I'll go cry in a corner and beat off to my Green Lantern issues.

You guys going back and forth are a hoot. It is only comic books, guys, not life! Anyway, I think the restart is fine especially with bringing back the big names. Also, I am a big fan of Lee. The Batman Hush series he drew rocks.

Jim Lee cannot meet his deadlines. Unless they already have 8-10 issues done by Sept., I'm out. I'll wait for the trade paper back collecting the 12 issue series 2015.

@ComicCritic87
Im pretty sure its gonna be the red lanterns.

This could be good, Johns is good and Jim Lee is fantastic, havent seen him around lately.

And yea JLA has totally sucked the past couple years, it started off strong with Meltzer at the helm but totally veered off with McDuffie and is now filled with a bunch of characters no ones interested in.
AC1

They need to sort out Hawkman first.

He's a reincarnated Egyptian... no he's an alien cop... no he's a reincarnated alien cop from Egypt... no he's a reborn hawk God... no, he's all of those different characters magically combined into one character... MAKE YOUR MIND UP DC!!!

And does this mean that all that Blackest Night stuff has now never happened in the DCU? That all the comic series' that were supposed to be spectacular are now moot?

How many reboots does this make now for Justice League? Why do they keep getting away from the basic formula that is what the fans want? Biggest guns in DC all teamed up together in one book. How hard is that?

I'll pass this time, only because I've never been a fan of Lee's art. It just does nothing for me, and it's usually badly inked, to boot.

looking forward to this book, but i'd have to agree geoff johns has peaked in his writing.

the "sinestro corps war" was his last great story, but his books have gone downhill since that.

maybe writing too many books,he should just concertrate on one maybe two.

hope he gets back to form with this book.

this is not really news to me. i've heard bout this since early last year i think... but after waiting for any new development on it for so long, i thought the project was dead.

the most exciting thing for me is the promise that the big guns are once again in the driver seat. the big guns meaning the characters, supes, bats, etc...the original of course.

regarding Johns and Lee, howevah...well, i understand Johns is like DC's Brian Bendis and that Jim Lee's a modern comic book icon (not my personal fave), but i do prefer other people in their place instead. how about Mark Millar and Olivier Coipel? are they exclusive to Marvel???

about the roster, with Johns' involvement, i'm sure the GL will be none other than Hal Jordan, but, i still prefer they'd switch the Lantern once in a while with the other ones.

i'd like Black Lightning to make a return. The Ray, Plastic Man, Steel and also...as the mage, i won't mind if they also have different ones taking turns, like Zee, Dr. Fate, etc.

i hope, this time there WON'T be any more glitches or excuses of editorial decisions prioritizing cross over company events screwing good storytelling, like during Dwayne McDuffie's run. poor guy.

I think this will be great. I love Jim Lee. But I have to agree with every one else, Johns is writing too many titles. He is gonna run out of good stories. They should have gotten Grant Morrison again. His first run with Howard Porter on JLA was great. The White Martians, Rock of the Ages, etc.. great stuff. Morrison's story telling made me love Porter's art cause I hated it at first.

The wonder woman costume I'd obvious but anyone else notice the superman costume update above? Look closely at the neckline and there's no red trousers. I still prefer the OG costume but this isn't bad if this will be his "new" look.

actually looking at oreos' post, consisting the pics of ww and bats, i think GARY FRANK will be the right artist to do this "rebirth" project, with him having done an alternate-JLA series with Marvel's Supreme Power.

hey, speaking of SP, i also wanna see sometime in the future, JMS writing this relaunch of JLA- i mean, JL/Justice League.

Long live the new costume!!
