SDCC '13: One Of The Lantern Corps Will Be Destroyed During 'FOREVER EVIL'

Perhaps the time of multi-colored Lantern Corps is coming to an end at DC Comics? During SDCC, DC Comics co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee reveal that one of the Lantern Corps will be destroyed along with their Power Battery this October. But which one?

Aside from a few stalwart Corps like the Green (naturally) and Yellow Lantern Corps. most of the other color Corps were introduced in 2007 by Geoff Johns. But Johns has now stepped away from shepherding DC Comics' Lantern titles so what's to come of that particular idea which introduced the Red, Orange, Blue, White and (technically) the Star Sapphire Lantern Corps? Said Dan DiDio when asked what's coming down the pipeline in the Green Lantern books, "We can tease, one of the color corps are destroyed in the course of the battle that takes place with this character that we've introduced called Relic." He continued, "It's a new character but an extremely old character that's going to affect every aspect of the Green Lantern universe." Dan DiDio took the tease into full-blown reveal stating, "He actually destroys one of the Corps and the Power Battery."

Jim Lee joked (I think he's joking, he didn't look too happy that Dan gave that away), "We've crossed over from tease to reveal."

According to Dan, the story tells what happens to the Lanterns when their rings run dry, how do they defend the universe? Which Lantern Corp do you think (or wish) will be no more come this October?

It will not be Green, red or orange (Larfleeze is a fan fav). Blue seems unlikley but i feel itll be either Sinestro Corps (Sinestro is "gone"), Indigo (Noones favorite) or star saphires

Probably be the Indigos, they may be all killer and scum but with the ring on they are the good guys with no problems.

Yellow actually makes sense, especially with Sinestro as a sort of Parallax. He could absorb the power battery's energy and Parallax himself, becoming a living battery.

Red, Yellow and Orange are popular, so it's unlikely it will be them. Meanwhile Indigo, Sapphire and Blue are in the air.

ugh i wish it would be goddam larfleeze but people seem to like that crap. stars seem likely but that would really suck... making sapphire part of a team was the best idea they ever had for the character.

unless maybe the zamarons reconcile with oa and the stars get folded into the glc somehow? hm. love and will could go together.

didn't the sapphire's just have an issue with their battery anyways. however Orange does need to go, they are really useless.

Larfleeze and his stupid Orange light of greed can go away. Never liked him. He's the only one with a ring, so it'd be easy to get rid of him.

But of course it'd be more of a "thing" if they killed off "hope." Oooh, look, all hope is lost. Yank yank. It's okay because they'll be back with Damian Wayne and anyone else that dies in comics.

Well we know it isn't Green, Yellow, Orange or Red cause they all have or wil shortl have their own books. So it's either blue, indigo or violet. But that doesn't mean that said corps won't rebuild, just that it's going to be destroyed. The emotion that accompanies that corps will still exist therefore making possible their return. Just thinking out oud I guess.

hhhhmmm first off thanks for the spoiler Didio.

Second it definitely is not green for obvious reasons.
Red, Yellow and orange either have a series, just got one or is getting one soon. Plus they are the most interesting.

So its either violet, blue or indigo, my guess is blue.
