I was not going to make an article out of this till I remembered that I was the first Editor on CBM to post an article about Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" film. I said to myself "Self, this poster looks trippy as hell", and that is the theme here folks. I have been reporting all along that Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" is going to be a trippy movie and these new movie posters will proove that I am correct!

I have to say, pretty sweet stuff. This film will be a eye candy fest to watch in IMAX 3D at the Portage IMAX Theater in Portage IN that you don't want to miss!!! Can't wait!!

I just hope they don't ruin the movie. Even with modern special effects, some movies are better left as they were.

Ugh, I'm not a fan of any of Tim Burton's stuff so I have no desire to see this anytime soom! :p

Seriously No Burton movie? Batman? Ed Wood? I though those 2 at least were pretty definitively classic movies. Personally the only ones I don't care for are Planet Of The Apes and Mars Attacks.

i'm over Tim Burton, his movies stopped being unique and original after about the 100th dark and "artistic" one. As if Alice in Wonderland wasn't already a [frick]ed up story you have to add Tim Burton into it.

I mean honestly these posters are just laughable, all they are is trying to show off how Tim Burtony this movie is going to be. Just look at the Queen of Hearts and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum! Was it really necessary to make them all deformed and freaky looking? You can't take this movie seriously.

looks cool, however I agree with the last four comment makers in that I am just not much of a Burton fan. I like Sleepy Hollow, Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas... but you can really just keep the rest. I remember when Big Fish came out, practically everybody I know was freaking out about it and I was just like...meh

Seen all of his flicks except NBC, Corpse Bride and Chocalte Factory...tried to watch them and couldn't get more than 15 mins into any. Heck Batman and Beetlejuice are the only two I'd even bother to watch again. IMO a highly overrated director.

Depends on what your into. When did Burton ever claim he was trying to be "Unique" or "original"? He makes movies. His movies have a certain style. You either like it or you don't. I like it.

I agree with Burton being on the down turn.

This looks promising. But Planet of the Apes was by far his worst. That ending was absolute shit.

So bad you shouldn't touch it.

I have to agree with ROR, just look at GUY RITCHIE or TARANTINO. Both those guys have a unique style to their films. I don't think that BURTON is trying to be anything but himself. It's just the way he sees it.

@Rorschach01- I know he hasn't but almost anybody I talk to about him says how brilliant, unique, and original he is. Don't get me wrong i love many of his movies like Batman, Ed Wood, and hell even Mars Attacks is alright, but he's kinda starting to become a parody of himself. Whenever I hear about a new movie he's making i think "Hmm could it be a dark movie featuring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter?"...and then they release the posters and trailers and it turns out i'm right. What a shock.

YOU KNOW WHEN YOU SEE A DIRECTOR AND WISH, "DANG I WISH HE DID SUCH AN SUCH A MOVIE"...BURTON DOING ALICE IN WONDERLAND IS WISH FULLFILMENT..

I have been a moderate fan of TB. Beetlejuice, Batman, ... ..beyond that I see a one trick pony. I tire of his style of spiral tree branches, sunken in dark eye sockets, and Danny Elfman scores.

In the second poster it looks like Tim Burton put the tree of the dead in the background from Sleepy Hollow. Perhaps the Headless Horseman has a cameo.

I LOVE Tim Burton's work. Have been a fan of his since "Edward Scissorhands" back 1990 (can't go wrong with a Vincent Price film). Must see more of Burton's movies!

I personally am a very big Burton fan.

Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all-time favorite movies.

Batman '89 is also a total classic movie IMO, as is Edward Scissorhands.

I am personally looking forward to this movie.

man. looks like its going to be another Charlie and the chocolate factory- messed up. Willy wonka shouldve never been touched and I am thinking the same with Alice in wonderland... =(

I must correct myself, but I was a fan of Tim Burton's work for much longer then originally stated. I almost hate to say it... but I've been a fan of his since I first saw "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" (made in 1985). SAD.
@InTylerWeTrust82- Yes, Batman & Nightmare Before Christmas were great films. Beetle Juice has to be one of my all time favourites.

Upupandaway - 11/11/2009, 9:32 PM
@Anil: He has a kid with Bonham Carter and he smokes pot with Depp. Burton's really a love him or hate him kind of guy.
@KeepItReal: The Gene Wilder version of chocolate factory is perfection. Didn't like that remake.

Burton has had hits and misses. IMO there have been more hits. For me, he goes to extremes. The hits are amazing and the misses are horrible. (I'm talking to you Planet of the Apes.)
KeepItReal
KeepItReal - 11/11/2009, 9:38 PM
Upupandaway: I agree. The Gene Wilder version was perfection and I was really upset with the remake. Depp made it creepy and weird. I didnt care for it at all.

Its true burton is a love/hate him type of guy. I do love his movie of Beetlejuice to be fair. HATED the nightmare before xmas though and charlie and the chocolate factory.

This looks to be shaping up to be a fun film. Burton is due for a good film. This may be it.

Man, this movie looks absolutely halucinogenic!

It looks like Burton has been hittin' that doobie
a little hard with Johnny and sampling some silly-
shrooms too! lol

But I still like most of Burton's movies, especially
Batman, Beetlejuice, and A Nightmare Before Christmas!
