Matthew Modine is no stranger to the comic book movie scene, playing a minor role in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises (infamously using the Avengers to promote Batman) and now he wants to take center stage! I a recent tweet the Full Metal Jacket star expressed his want to play Marvel's most famous mystic, check it out:






The actor is the first (possibly of many) being up for the role since this week's announcement that Marvel is pushing ahead with Dr. Strange. What do you think? Would he make a good big screen magician? Sign off your thoughts below!

He's kind of right about the Avengers/Batman, though.

I loved the Avengers because it was a 'cartoon fantasy-nice kid flick'.
Come on, let's not pretend it was high art, or even 'deep'.
It's Marvel/Disney. They infuse comedy into all of their films these days.
Some of them look like straight up comedies.

Batman was dark. Avengers wasn't. He's not wrong.

The rest of what he said sounds like he was joking around.
Who in their right mind would take any of that seriously?

Modine is a VERY cool guy.
He's actually very down to earth, and not merely pretending to be.
Most celebrities do that for show. Modine is an awesome guy.

It's part of the reason why I don't see him as Strange.
Modine isn't dark, brooding, or moody.
He doesn't even project any of that in my mind.
It would be hard for me to see him as Doc Strange because he always comes across as the 'nice guy'.

It's nice that he wants to play Strange though.
I don't blame him for wanting to do that.
