As the live blogging for the Sony panel at SDCC continues, we have a few updates regarding Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance.

First Showing have a brief description of the footage screened..

Wow the footage for Ghost Rider was BADASS. He pretty much had a flaming skull head the entire time, even his motorcycle is on fire the entire time, it looks awesome, some incredible shots, I am impressed. It's pretty much Neveldine/Taylor throwing out the first movie and bringing us their Ghost Rider that fans have always wanted to see.

By all accounts the footage was insane, with shots of Ghost Rider vomiting and urinating fire!. And another sees Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider battling as seperate entities. We will update with more details if and when they are available anyway.

The tagline is : "[frick]ing your shit up in 3D February 2012"

Subtle eh? Nicholas Cage also reveals what brought him back to the character..

"I had more to say. With this one he wanted to embrace the nightmare aspect and hopefully "scare you and entertain you at the same time"

"In the first movie, he was an innocent goofball, in this one he's been living it for a few years, and is a bit more sarcastic, edgy, ironic." In the other movie, he didn't get to play Ghost Rider, and he's been thinking about that including how he would move and so on.

If not... REMAKE BY MARVEL! Starring: Josh Holloway as Johnny Blaze, Garrett Hedlund as Danny Ketch and Sam Elliott or Jeff Bridges as Caretaker! Plus Kevin Durand as Blackheart!

I hope Johnny Blaze acts more like the comic version, not eating jelly beans out of a martenee glass or watching cartoons.

It sounds like they are approaching GR as horror, and not some spandex wearing superhero, which is the ONLY way to do GR right. My hopes are cautiously rising.

Just another one of those comics that should never have wasted time being made into a movie. The imposed 3D will probably make it flop bigger than the first film and finally teach them a lesson in throwing good money after bad concepts. The only reason Sony are making a 2nd movie is because they still own the rights and they're hoping it can make some cash off the popularity of the Marvel Entertainment movies building up to the Avengers.

This one gonna be a sleeper hit.Everybody deserves a second chance and I am getting a vibe that they are doing it right but I think I must wait for the trailer to make any judgment though I have full faith on the Director duo.
