Green Lantern to Film at Fox Studios In Sydney

Just like X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman, Happy Feet 2 and Guardians of GaHoole, Green Lantern will film in Sydney Australia

Pre-production will start in July with filming expected to begin in November.

As the surrounding area of any town that is home to a big budget film production the Sydney locals are all quite pleased with the additional revenue this film will create for Sydney's local economy.

No star has yet landed the role of Hal Jordan. The studio is aiming for a December 2010 release. Which is strange for a summer tent pole. Stay tuned for further details.

As long as its early December, it'll be okay! Just don't release it Xmas day lol! I doubt they would even think about putting it against IRONMAN 2, that could even hurt both movies!

supermike - you need to change your tag man or I'm going to look into suing your ass for misleading info!

Yes every DC film has panned hasn't it! They've only made one of the biggest selling movies of all time, amongst classics that to this day remain the benchmark for super hero movies!

Tool!

ya know not for nuthin in this economic climate and the unemployment rate being so
high. you woukld think that movie studios would at least try to film these new big budget films in the states and give some people some work. but no lets take 150m budget and take it to sydney and give all that stage hand, electrical, extras, carpentry, and all the other manual labor work that could be given to us, so wb can get a 15% location discount. when it comes down to it, it is really shitty. but like lemmings we'll all go running to see this movie because its not our problem and what are we going to do about it any way. Am I the only person who thinks like this or do the rest of you agree with me

To the new readers of CBM: Supermike has tended to post "comments" like that waaaaaaaaaaaay back since last year.

That´s his nature. Listen to him BUT don´t argue with him... it is pointless.

Well last i checked this movie wasn't made by the gouvernment of the united states. These production companies are hardly responsible for a country's enconomy. They're only responsible for they're company's economy. And if the US wants to make more money, what they could do for starters is stop endorsing companies that produce CRAP like Dodge/chrysler and GM and maybe even sell they're own oil that's just sitting there. And if they want big companies to produce major box office films on their own turf, then all they need to do is CHARGE LESS!!! Why do US companies have factories in third world contries??? CAUSE IT'S CHEAPER!!! Why do movie companies film outside THEIR own country??? Cause their own country is selfishly EXPENSIVE!!!

All of a sudden they concider themselves "victims"...riiiiiight.

Yes like KeepItReal said.. keep it real hehe.

Shaman. You rule. even in macroeconomic topics, ya´rule.

Here in Mexico everything you just said is 100% true.

Why te hell Fox doesn´t use their FOX STUDIOS BAJA in Baja California, Mexico??

They filmed Titanic there, and i think they haven´t used them again for any big office movie again in 10 freaking years!!
Shaman
Shaman - 4/17/2009, 1:09 PM
That's just ridiculous.
SirJediFrank
SirJediFrank - 4/17/2009, 2:22 PM
I mean, big trans-national companies DO invest in Mexico. Mainly, as you said, because Salaries are way cheaper here than in USA and also the materials used for constructing the products.

Ocassionaly they film foreign movies also, but those Studios facilities in particular are kind of unused.

Now i am not saying Mexico is a 3rd world country as a whole, though in many places, especially communities that live way beyond the cities, it still is.

I'm not a DC fan but there were some good movies with Keaton (Batman, Batman Returns), Bale Batman Begins, Dark Knight. I even like the TV version of the Flash back in the day. Superman I and II were the only good ones. Otherwise that is it! I really think this is going to be a positive breaking point for DC if they can pull this off! That why I am a TRUE Marvel Fan, Thank you very much! SuperDike is a dork! Opps, did i say dike!

Believe in the Green!

I'm with you. Its true, whenever I talk about stuff like that my friends look at me like i'm weird and make me feel like i'm old, yet i'm only 23. I just cant help but think about things like our economy and that people would get there heads out of there ass and do something about it.
