When IGN caught up with the star of Martin Campbell's
The Green Lantern recently, they asked him if he chose Green Lantern over Deadpool because he thought Green Lantern would win in a fight.
I don't know, that's a good question! I don't know who would win in a fight, and that's a question I'm just not going to answer, but there was no choosing one over the other, it was just I was presented with a very special opportunity and I just jumped at it."
"I think the movie is vastly different to a lot of what's out there," says the 33-year-old.
"Its kind of a space epic, a Star Wars for the DC universe, it feels that immense to me. There's also something that's classic about it, Green Lantern is a classic hero."
He also went on to add that he based his Hal Jordan on Han Solo.
"Green Lantern is this guy who can throw a punch tell a joke and kiss the girl. It's the kind of classic hero that I haven't seen in a long time and its something that I thought about when I was a kid I watched Indiana Jones and Star Wars and saw how [Harrison] Ford fulfilled that kind of role. The goal at least is to create that kind of action hero again, or at least that's Martin Campbell's agenda."
Hawksblueyes: Reynolds may have dodged the question but that doesn't mean we can't discuss it. Who do you think would walk away from a fight between the two?
