Every great movie has a few scenes that could be identifiable as superior. What are the best scenes in Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy? Check out my personal list after the jump... Oh, and there will be spoilers. Duh.

Major Spoilers For Guardians Of The Galaxy Follow

Guardians Of The Galaxy is one of those movies that's very tough to choose just five scenes that are the "best." It's also the only movie I saw twice at the theaters besides The Avengers, The Dark Knight, Back To The Future, and Star Wars. From the introduction to a young Peter Quill as he says his goodbyes to his mother, to baby Groot dancing to "I Want You Back," the whole film was a very special film that can be considered one of Marvel's best. When watching the film a second time, you laugh at the same jokes, cry at the same moments, and love the movie so much more. After thinking it over, I managed to put together the list of what I think are the best scenes.

5. Aboard The Milano
I put a lot of thought into this list, especially since there were so many great scenes, but it wasn't until the second time I saw it that I was able to come up with the top five. Ultimately, the Guardians' five minute scene on the Milano has managed to triumph over many other amazing scenes in this film, such as Yondu's badass "fight" with Ronan's goons, Thanos' scene, the opening moment with Peter and his dying mother, the chase for the Orb on Xandar, and the scenes on Knowhere. It just barely managed to be better than the previous ones I mentioned though. This is the scene that I thought really brought out the good in each of the Guardians, as they realized that they were willing to fight beside one another and and die with their new friends. Sure, the scene's biggest gag (Rocket's laugh) was spoiled in the international trailer and TV Spots, but that doesn't change the fact that the rest of this scene was really touching.  
 
4. Come And Get Your Love
Coming up next is the introduction to an older Peter Quill as he attempts to steal the orb containing the Power Stone, as he takes his time dancing and singing through Morag listening to the popular song "Come And Get Your Love." Sure, you may be asking why I like this scene over what can arguably called superiour scenes. Well, first of all, I am absolutely in love with this song. I've known this song for a while, but it wasn't until I heard it in this movie that I really got it stuck in my head. By my second viewing, I couldn't stop singing this song. I actually picked up the Guardians Of The Galaxy soundtrack on my way home and listened to this song the most (it was a two hour drive, actually, so I had tons of time to listen to this as well as all the others). The other reason I really enjoyed this scene was simply because it was fun! A guy sitting near me was headbanging during this song, and someone else was tapping their foot. It was a great opener to the movie that kicked off the happy tone of the movie, after going through the emotion from the scene before it.

3. Fall Of Ronan
One of the film's strongest scenes was when the Guardians stood tall to defeat Ronan The Accuser with the Power Stone. Seeing Rocket's furry little hand reach out to grab Drax's put a smile on my face, and of course that shot of the Guardians standing connected to each other is one of the most epic and comic booky scenes in the whole film. And let's not forget that little dance number Quill does to distract Ronan, causing everyone around him to question his sanity. That joke only worked because Peter Quill is played by Chris Pratt. And there's also those brief moments before and after the stone's power is unleahed when Rocket grieves over the loss of his friend. Seeing Rocket truly hurt by this was very emotional. But what stood out for me was when Drax went to pet him. I was really confused when my whole theater laughed, because I didn't find it funny. I found it heartwarming. If anyone dared to pet Rocket before the events of this movie, they'll lose their head... literally. But after coming a long way since the movie's opening, this is when it becomes apparent that Rocket and the rest of the misfit outlaws have finally found loving companions friends.
 
2. We Are Groot
Did you cry during this scene? It's okay, this is a Marvel movie where crying is actually appropriate. And if you didn't at least find it the slightest bit emotional, you better explain a lot. I think having Groot sacrifice himself was a great way to end the film, even though he'll be returning anyway. One thing Marvel hasn't done too much of is these kinds of emotional moments, so I could see why James Gunn may want to add a sad moment such as this, and a sacrific is a very easy way to get emotion. Wasn't it both adorable and sad to see tears running down a poor Rocket's face as he says his goodbyes to Groot? Even discribing that moment just now reminded me so much of the feelings I felt during this scene. It was beautifully directed, and the visuals made the effect much more strong. It wasn't just a raccoon saying heartfelt stuff, it was a very human-like character with so much real emotion coming out of him. And Bradley Cooper's voice acting as Rocket also hade a massive impact on this scene.

1. Escape From The Kyln
Ah, yes. The scene we have all be looking forward to since the very beginning. Not only is this one of the greatest scenes in the film, but perhaps one of the best scenes Marvel has ever brought us. Since the scene started off, we knew it would be realyl enjoyable, and it was. I don't think there are any ways that this could have turned out better. Rocket's brutal attack was the perfect length. Anything less and we'd feel cheated, anything more and it would have become longwinded and too long for a simple thing like that (like a few other movies you may know about). The scene had great moments between each member of the team, and the comedy level was perfect for a scene like this. There was quite a few jokes, but only small ones that didn't distract at all from everything else going on. There were joked such as the leg, and sure it wasn't needed, but with five Guardians, it's good to have one of them off doing a different task or they'll all be doing the same thing and it'd be boring fast. Everything was balanced perfectly, and definitely was an amazing scene. Thank you, James Gunn.

I loved this movie and can't wait to see it again. I do wish they didn't actually kill Ronan, I was kind of hoping he survived only to be killed by Thanos for failing. In terms of emotion though I felt it most went Rocket went on his drunken tirade on Knowhere, you could not see that without catching a lump in your throat. But yeah good list

You've pretty much covered my favorites, We are Groot probably number 1 for me, I loved the opening scene and the scene where Rocket, Groot and Gamora encounter Quill for the first time on Xandar.

i loved the scene where quill was putting the moves on gamora and then she freaks out just before kissing him lol. i also loved the footlose reference and then when gamora used it later in the film.

I liked the scene when Groot goes all Hulk on the guards & he just turns around & smiles.Lol. RR drunk talking about the experiments on him was great. We r Groot made me have something in my eye & Peter remembering his mom at the end was touching 2.

@Snotzo I always thought after seeing Thor 2 that the cocoon would hatch in this movie or at least give a hint at it.I actually thought it would be the after credit scene leading up 2 GOTG 2.I mean it makes sense seeing as how Warlock has the Soul Gem & Thanos is in search of them.

On another note, I wonder how Thanos will eventually end up with them.All the villains have failed in attaining them so far.Maybe he ends up doing it himself? Nebula's still out there though so who knows.

Gunn does deserve a lot of respect & credit.He started with unknown(at least to the GA) characters & had 2 give them all screen time & make the film watchable(there's a freakin tree & talking racoon after all).Whedon started with heroes the world sort of knew & maybe some unknowns.Which mind u, all had solo films or cameos in.Gunn definitely delivered.Mad props 2 Gunn 4 "Assembling" The Guardians!

Should've kept Ronan. I felt he was underdeveloped and should have been used in future movies. Bring him back for GOTG2.

Ronan may be a clone of the Kree race, I know they have that ability. And even if they don't, Thanos will bring him back to teach that boy some lessons.

Saw the movie twice and loved it both times...couple thoughts.

I didn't like the fact that Ronan died. He was so badass and it would have be cool to see him in future movies. I wouldn't mind seeing him return, I wouldn't even care how just bring him back!

Was it just me or did Drax seem weak? He couldn't even touch Ronan when they battled before he got the stone.

Lastly, who else was after the stone? Peter and Yondu we're after it to sell to The Broker. But The Broker was getting it for someone else. Who could that be?

I really enjoyed the final fight scene with the ships making a net and then others going to to surface and firing up at the incoming projectiles...soooo awesome.

My Problems With The Movie


1. The Aliens Were Lazy
They basically just threw makeup on the people who werent the main characters and called them aliens. This was Marvel's shot to up the ante and give us weirdness personified. I wanted to see some out-there anime-type shit for the aliens.

2. Underdeveloped Characters
I think Groot is the only person who got proper development. I give that award due to Vin's great mo-cap and voice work and the fact Groot can only say four words. Peter's mom dying didn't make me feel anything. Gamora was never a killer according to the movie. Drax is a pushover and Rocket is a jackass that hates his only friend in the wold. Ronan could have been their next big villain since Loki but they flopped on that big time.

3. Rushed Plot
It's as if Jmaes Gunn was like "Let's hurry up and get them together for the sake of the plot". To me when the Guardians came together as a team I was supposed to feel like

but instead I just felt like "Yeah watevs" because they didn't put emphasis on the fact they are a misfit team full of people who dont get along and are totally different. They've became speaking buddies within 10 minutes of meeting each other.

IDK maybe I should just make an editorial. Liked the film but didn't love it.

I've noticed that this is the third Marvel film in a row where a character seemingly dies but is later revealed to be alive.
