EDITORIAL: Why Trevor Slattery From IRON MAN 3 Needs His Own Solo Film

The Mandarin twist in Iron Man 3 turned out to be quite popular among a lot of fans sharing the same hilarious moment during the scene. Trevor Slattery was the character himself is now in the ranks of one of Marvel's greatest film characters, so why not give him a solo film?

In the film Iron Man 3, the character known as The Mandarin in the beginning is played by fantastic actor Sir Ben Kingsley. In the middle of the film however it takes a dramatic turn to reveal he is a British actor named Trevor Slattery. The scene did prove to be popular by fans with the essential praise from not only from the comic book fan base but from the critics stand point. Indeed Iron Man 3 had one of the best villain twists in cinema history created wonderfully by Shane Black. What all fans wonder is where to continue from here. What genius would Marvel do next. Well I think after all the popularity served from the character of Trevor Slattery why not give him his own solo film within the Marvel universe. Sir Ben Kingsley could return to play him seeing as how he channeled the seriousness and comedic elements through him in that one scene with Tony Stark. We are all wondering on the further adventures of where this character is going to go next.

This will not be a risk for Marvel at all but it would be a smart move. He has already proven himself to be a successful one time character. Trevor can be a character that has many possibilities of being explored more.

I have compiled a major story idea for how this will play out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Story Idea: In the film Trevor is released out of jail after the events of Iron Man 3 by Justin Hammer played by Sam Rockwell. Sam Rockwell releases him on one condition, if he travels to New York to take part in a major theatrical production of the events in the film Iron Man 3. He excitingly agrees and hops on a flight cross country from Britain, soon his plane gets engine failure and his plane crashes on an unknown island in the middle of the pacific. Trevor survives without a scratch on him and takes a bottle of Jack Daniels before leaving the plane. He stumbles around the island for a few hours drunk until he passes out. He soon wakes up on a pirate ship and meets Jack Sparrow. Then the pirate ship gets ambushed and Trevor grabs a pirate sword hilarious dropping it the first time then he runs around and kicks some bad pirates around. Then Jack Sparrow stumbles into him and Trevor falls overboard off the ship. We then see Trevor on a rock surrounded by mermaids as they feed him ham and a drink of pina colada on the side. The mermaids soon swim off and Trevor takes off his clothes and jumps into the ocean swimming after them. Trevor soon hits a rock and wakes up in a cell in an asylum. We then see Hannibal Lecter and Patrick Bateman drinking tea and having a conversation with each other. They are both wearing fancy tuxedos. Huey Lewis and The News song Hip To Be Square is playing in the background. Then Patrick Bateman looks to Trevor and says, "Do you want some tea." Trevor replies no and he screams loudly. Then a nurse from the asylum dressed in kinky gear opens the doors to the cell and walks up to Trevor, "Time for your torture baby." She locks his hands with fuzzy cuffs and smacks him with a whip. Then dragging a screaming Trevor into another room. "So Trevor do you think I am hot?", the nurse asks when she pulls down her pants to reveal a large lizard tail. Trevor screams and the film fades out to Trevor standing atop a building.

Trevor runs off the building and falls. Then suddenly Optimus Prime bounces off the building and grabs Trevor. "Your safe human." Then suddenly Megatron appears around the corner, "One shall stand and one shall fail." Then Optimus Prime puts Trevor on the ground and starts having a kick ass fight with Megatron. Trevor finds a car and hops in it driving away. He soon finds out he is in Detroit and says, "Wow this place is messed up." Then he finds some blueprints in the glove department of the car which turns out to be blueprints for Iron Man armor. Trevor soon stops at a local mechanic and says, "Build it." So Trevor gets his Iron Man armor built and hops in it. He flies away in it and goes to Hollywood.

Trevor first flies to a small town before he makes it there. He sees an army of Spartans charging after a group of people. Trevor lands in the town and takes on the Spartans with his Iron Man armor. He blasts away at them and then kicks one in a pit like the scene from 300. He then flies away and continues on his quest to Hollywood. On his way he sees a house with flashing lights. He touches down and finds out there is a huge party going on. Trevor takes off his army and joins in having a few drinks. Soon after sometime after midnight he puts on his army and continues his quest to Hollywood.

Soon the battery power in the armor drains after a long flight and he falls into a boxing arena. A crowd of people roar in the arena. Lights are flashing everywhere. "Well I guess that other guy couldn't make it so we have our first challenger for tonight," The Ring Announcer says. The Ring Announcer walks up to Trevor and says, "What's your name dude." "Call me The Mandarin." Trevor takes off his Iron Man armor and does a quick warm up. Some dude outside the ring throws him some boxing gloves. "Ladies and Gentleman presenting the no time heavy weight no champion THE MANDARIN, and now introducing into the ring the real heavy weight powerhouse champion of steel and blood...ROCKY BALBOA!" Rocky steps onto the ramp running into the ring. The crowd shouts "ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY!" Rocky steps inside the ring and spits out some blood, then he looks to Trevor in disgust,"Who is this fake two bitter." The announcer shouts round 1 and then fight! Then Trevor and Rocky duke it out in the ring. Trevor cowers as he takes heavy blows from Rocky. Rocky takes one heavy swing knocking out Trevor to the ground. Then Trevor wakes up in a field, he shouts "OLE OLE OLE OLE!" Then runs around excitingly and jumps up in the air. The film then flashes to Trevor on a operating table being served beer. Trevor gets drunk and passes out. He soon wakes up and the room is empty. The lights start flashing in the room. He stumbles out the room and sees a Terminator walking down the other end of the hallway.

Trevor runs to the next end of the hallway and jumps out a window, he then lands in a pool that somehow broke his fall. A hand outside the pool reaches for Trevor and pulls him out, we then see Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. "Wanna Race?", Vin Diesel asks Trevor. They soon hop to a starting line and Paul Walker throws him a set of keys, "green car is yours bud." A hot girl waves a flag and they take off at an intense amount of speed. Then Trevor accidentally drives into a building and stops his car in the middle of a buffet. "Free food!", he gets out of the car and takes some food from the buffet. He then walks out the building. Soon a white van stops in front of him and two men from the van grab him and throw him inside. One of the dudes injects a needle to him and Trevor passes out. He then wakes up in front of a door. Trevor opens the door to a huge party and everyone shouts, "SURPRISE!". We then see Sam Rockwell once again as Justin Hammer, "You did a great job buddy this movie is going to make billions, Trevor Slattery The Movie and it's going to kick more ass than Iron Man." "What about the theatrical production?", Trevor asks. "There was no theatrical production, the moment you got on that plane your movie began rolling, everything was staged and set up perfectible. We are going to be making billions and your the star baby. Now go and join your damn party!" Trevor hangs out with some hot chicks in a hot tub and grabs a glass of wine. Trevor winks to the camera and the movie ends.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trevor Slattery is a brilliant character and this will be the perfect way for Marvel to reintroduce him to some sort of audience. I hope indeed Trevor makes a return to the MCU. Such a great character like him shouldn't be wasted at all. Share your thoughts and opinions like always in the comment section below.

Do people really think you're serious about this? Does the word "Satire" mean nothing anymore? Very funny, great stuff!
