UNDERDOG's Adam Rifkin Developing Movie Based On Popular Marshmallow Easter Candy PEEPS
The popular Marshmallow Easter candy known as Peeps could be hitting the big screen in a similar fashion to the LEGO Movie from Underdog and Small Soldiers screenwriter Adam Rifkin. Don't believe me? Then hit the jump for details...
According to Deadline, the screenwriter known most for Underdog and Small Soldiers is planning a live-action adaptation of Just Born Incorporated's much-appreciated marshmallow Easter candy called Peeps. Now in different kinds of flavors and varieties, the candy has becomes a major addition to Easter baskets and is loved across the entire country. The LEGO Movie-esque family movie based on the treats will reportedly be "set the night before a Peeps diorama contest, when a wayward Peep gets misplaced and must adventure through the fantasy lands of different-themed dioramas before the contest’s judging begins." Again like the LEGO Movie, they plan on working with a major film studio on the project to incorporate different characters and pre-existing IP just like WB did with Lego minifigs, DC comics characters, and historical and pop culture figures.
