So now that we know who will be sitting in The White house for the next 4 years, it's time to move on to the really important decision - who is going to direct the next installment in the Star Wars saga? One fan really wants the job to go to Brad Bird - a solid choice no doubt - and has put together the following campaign vid, which lists the man's achievements while taking a few good natured swipes at the...less-loved movies that have come before..

Do you think Bird would get the job done? Who would be the subject of your own campaign vid? Sound off below.

I'm not against him, but as a 30 year SW fan I think I'd like maybe Favreau or other guys out there who can handle experienced actors. At least for Ep VII. If done right they can take chances with other guys on VIII and IX. The first of a new trilogy sets the tone which is why even though Ep III is good and Ep II decent they cant shake the mediocrity of The Phantom Menace. With Ford likely coming back just for VII I think he'll have say in it. Speilberg always wanted to do SW and with Kennedy as producer and Disney in control he can (Lucas had a feud with the directors guild regarding SW which is why Speilberg and many other directors never did). Ford and Speilberg and Favreau have worked together.

Dude should of directed The Avenger's aswell. He is best at group dynamics. The Incredibles is still the best superhero team up ever.

@darkmetal

Crystal Skull resulted after the last Spielburg/Lucas collaboration.

Spielburg is incredible as a director, but NOT with projects Lucas created.

Lucas has Spielburg by the balls. It wouldn't be Spielburg but another Lucas film

It seems YOU have no idea what goes into directing a Star Wars film.

Brad Bird, Vaughn, Nolan, Abrams and Whedon are easily stronger directors than Lucas.

What Lucas did was surround himself with very creative people.

There was a lot less flash and eccentric-ness in the originals. They were strong stories with well developed characters that had a huge emotional impact.

All Star Wars needs now is a strong story teller. Focusing in the flash and gimmicks is what creates the prequels.

The Incredibles was excellent, but MI4 was mediocre.

Though the video made very excellent points, I would rather have Brade Bird do Justice League or freaking do Incredibles 2 al-[frick]ing-ready. Now Guillermo del Toro is a slam duck perfect director for Episode 7.

He needs to make Incredibles 2 first. And THEN we can talk about him doing Star Wars Episode 7.

Rather Bird than some indie unknown that Lucas thinks is 'cool'.

Still want Spielberg but Bird would more than do.

Spielberg for Star Wars:

some_text

James Cameron and Spielberg have dominated the industry since 1978. Spielberg has worked with Lucas before, he gets the guy. In vision alone, Spielberg is the best bet.

Plus, The Spielberg name (alone) gets moviegoers in seats. He is one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.

Brad Bird for Justice League:

JLA

Brad Bird has a cartoon background, he knows how to direct huge team movies, and he gets superheroes. Brad Bird has a light touch that will work well with making a Justice League movie more family oriented (See: Whedon).

When did Bird become the king of CBM? Hes directed one live action film. Disney will probably choose Whedon or Jackson. And with good reason.

@jessepostal: incredibles is the best non-comic superhero film that combines the best of silver age marvel and modern comic aesthetics and themes. M:I 4 is the best mission impossible movie (sorry to john woo fans) it was a movie everyone had bet on to suck and it didn't. i went to M:I for the batman prologue and found a fun and exciting action movie.

bird proves he can take material thats nothing special and make it the best it can be. he gets my vote (my cries for davis lynch goes unanswered ;) damn it!)

Sooo.. like I said. Lucas just surrounded himself with talented people. If you watch the Star Wars documentary you can see all the input other people put into Star Wars.

The Prequels were flash and gimmicks.

Vaughn, Nolan, Bird, Whedon could all have easily made a much better film. You really have no idea what your talking about butnit's worded very nicely.
