While we don't anticipate Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 happening anytime soon, a fourth movie revolving around Tom Holland's web-slinger appears to have started taking shape.

A lot of online scoopers have been making some bold claims about the Spider-Man: No Way Home follow-up lately, and we now have some very interesting comments from Tom Smith. With so many people on Twitter looking for clout, we'd advise taking this with a pinch of salt, but much of it lines up with what we've also been hearing.

As you can see, Smith believes that Holland has already signed up to appear in Spider-Man 4, while Zendaya is also being courted to return as MJ. That's not a shocker given her popularity and the fact the last movie quite blatantly teased the possibility of Michelle one day remembering Peter Parker.

It's looking like a decision has yet to be made when it comes to a director, though the hope seems to be that Jon Watts will return. How agreeable he'd be to that after leaving Fantastic Four due to apparent MCU fatigue is tough to say.

The comments on Spider-Man 4's potential 2024 release don't contain anything new, though we are intrigued by the news Miles Morales might also live in Peter's apartment block. We know Holland doesn't want to play the wall-crawler forever, and passing the mantle to a live-action Miles across this trilogy would likely be welcomed by fans.

After all, his popularity has only increased in recent years, whether it's in the comic books, the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, or the hit PS5 launch title Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Stay tuned for the latest on Spider-Man 4 as we have it.

I really doubt we'll see this movie in 2024, unless Marvel delays one of it's own to 2025. Doubt they want four MCU-set movies in the same year.

Don't think we need to see MJ and Miles yet again though. Jefferson Davis could be fun to see, but Miles already shines in the animated movies and the videogames.

@TheWalkingCuban - yeah, my mistake. I meant five. Four is already a lot, but I think they won't go with 5 (although I said the same with 4)

@bkmeijer1 - no telling but at the same time the lower box office might have served as a referendum on MCU, and I don’t mean like a landslide, more like votes, uh, box office, being counted way before and wait after… box officing day. And so Kevin Fiege may not want for movies in a year the way he did before Covid, if you remember that announcement that got derailed by pandemic

@bkmeijer1 - idk if Sony would be okay with that, more likely we get 5 movies or marvel pushes back one of their planned 4. Sony did say they want a spidey movie every other year and they’re already pushing that aside not releasing in 2023.

@TheWalkingCuban @Toanrey - I can see Marvel Studios/Feige definitely pushing one of their own if Sony is adamant about a 2024 release for SM4. Think MS still has oversight on it, so 5 is definitely a lot

@bkmeijer1 - five is too much, and there’s definitely a negative narrative out there, negativity is hard to turn around, what they did for those first 20 something movies was phenomenal partly because of that right there, it had so much positivity. So, let’s say for a minute that the quality has gone down. If it turns around, that doesn’t mean the positivity will also go up. People can stay negative. I say all of that to say, the quantity must go down to make this thing special again. Yes, even two movies. I doubt we’ll ever see that.

@TheWalkingCuban - it for sure doesn't feel special anymore, especially if every movie is a team-up big event.

Three is the right amount, of each. Three movies and three shows a year feels right to me

WAY too early for Miles. Give Peter his college trilogy and then if Holland isn’t interested in returning you can move on to Miles.

No way this gets a 2024 release.

I think they should leave miles in the spiderverse franchise. Especially since Peter just got into the swing of things as his own hero. Miles should really only be there for a seasoned Peter and/or a dead one.

@Origame - a “seasoned Peter”? This Peter Parker is more qualified and seasoned than any other Spider-Man(outside of the comics of course). This dudes been to space, fought the Avengers, and went up against 7 street level villains in total. He’s definitely “seasoned”. He so “seasoned” he’s ready for the oven. Lol

I like Miles but at the same time he kinda annoys me because now every time we have a spider-man movie or show about Peter people will be constantly expecting Miles ti eventually show up when I’d rather it just focus on peter

Im fine with a Miles inclusion. We dont know if Holland wants to play Spidey for another decade. Dude might get bored with it. Miles gives you a backup.

@BlackStar25 - or just recast. Why is that such a dirty concept now?

Actually Miles' comics aren't selling so no, his popularity hasn't increased -It actually decreased when he entered the 616 because he's just another Spidey there and we already have the original and best

I believe a new trilogy where we meet morales in the first one get bitten by a spider in the second and holland dies and pass the mantle in the third one could be a possibility.

I'm fine with a brief cameo from a young Miles not tied into the story, but it's definitely too early for Miles to get any sort of spider powers. We JUST got Peter out of high school and into a more "classic Spidey" atmosphere. So many great Peter Parker stories are now primed.

Having Donald Glover return and run into Peter or something would be cool, and then you see Miles sitting on a couch through a crack in the apartment door. But that's about the extent I'd be on board with.

According to Marvel Studios slate they already have three films arriving in 2024 but they are dated in May, June and July which seems strange. Why so close together and have no winter/Christmas release?

Maybe Sony have spotted that window and hop to fill it with Spidey 4. Seeing as Spiderman: No Way Home was a successful chrimbo release it wouldn't surprise me. That would give them an approximate filming window in late 2023. Easily achievable.

@Orphix - Spider-Man 4 would be great for Christmas 2024 but Avatar 3 already took that prime spot. Who knows? That movie could move.

I think it’s too early to bring in Miles. I would love to see one more trilogy with Tom and then introduce Miles in the last film to take over the mantle.
