RUMOR: Sony Plan To Bring Emma Stone's 'Gwen Stacy' Back For TASM 3

You'll have to take this with a healthy dose of salt, but with all of the outlandish things we've been hearing lately in regards to Sony's plans post The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it really doesn't sound that far-fetched. Anyway, read on for the details..

Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) met her demise at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but this latest rumor suggests that Sony plan to resurrect the character for the next film in the franchise. Christian Today (who have actually landed a few CBM scoops in the past), via Screen Crush, report that the plan is to bring Miss Stacy back in much the same way the Marvel comics did; and have her cloned by the villain known as the Jackal. This sounds more like speculation to me, but with Sony seemingly unsure of how to proceed with this franchise, I wouldn't rule it out that they'd be toying with the idea of bringing back one of the biggest draws of the previous films. Remember there's also that rumored all-female Spidey-team movie on the cards -- could Gwen be in line to be a part of that perhaps? Like I said, all speculation for now and a pretty out-there rumor to boot but if this was indeed part of Sony's game-plan, what would you think?

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. I didn't think they had the balls to kill of the main character and I gave them props when they actually did. But what can they really do if they don't have her for thirsty nerds to drool over.

I hope this is not true.

If it is, it might be Avi Arad reaching.
Not saying he's a total Jerk, I don't actually know him.
But his recent comments on Spider-Man and the MCU — Homie please — We all know it's time for Spidey to go home.

Ok what? I thought we agreed on sony not interfering with decision making or trying editing a movie to make it wastly different then the script was?

SONY, just get a passionate director, change the producers (Avi Arad has to go sorry) stick to the [frick]ing script, and don't interfere with the director, then you'll get yourself satisfied fans and a great spider-man movie. For [frick]s sake it's not that hard to let go!
