First Unofficial Synopsis for The Man of Steel Revealed!

Here is a synopsis that a feature film audition site has posted as the story for the film. I also remembered to put the link on!

Below is the synopsis that they have posted. It sounds about right but ISN'T official. Warner Bros. have released this synopsis to casting agencies to advertise to actors and actresses for the roles in the film.

Clark Kent is a freelance reporter in his 20's, traveling all around the world covering various news stories. While traveling, Kent is forced to fly back into action to attain an assassin instead of covering an ethnic conflict between the Ghuri and Turaaba clans in West Africa. Upon his return to form, Kent returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and become the hero he was born to be.

What do you make of this synopsis? Do you like the story and what about Clark being in his 20's? For me this sounds perfect!!

The Man of Steel opens December 17, 2012 directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan, Emma Thoms, Deborah Snyder, and Charles Roven with story by David Goyer, Christopher Nolan, and Jonathan Nolan.

They just C&P the plot from Birthright, right down to the fictional tribes. I doubt it's true since Snyder said it wasn't based on any comic in particular.

another superman movie about his origins and the hero he is supposed to be? i cant wait NOT to see this! how about a real supes movie where he fights someone other than a bald white middle-aged man. how about superman walking cross country? nah, that sounds too stupid to be real!

That same site also posted a bogus Captain America synopsis oh so long ago. They just post whatever to give prospective auditioners a sense of what the film might be.

And Warner Bros. haven't announced a release date yet, either so that's kind of a BS thing to include in your article. (And don't tell me "that's what you heard from some article you can't remember" like some people do with other articles. If you can't source it, don't include it.)

I hope the "main" villain is Brainiac, Darkseid, Metallo or Bizarro (More smarter Bizarro and pure evil. That would be cool. That would question peoples trust to Superman, if you know what i mean). Lex Luthor is going to be there anyway so i dont count him.
Parasite would be cool villain too! Loser starlabs janitor Rudy Jones or the Plant Worker Max Jensen(He was the original Parasite) gets in the horrible accident and lost his mind, when he change into hidious creature Parasite, who can absorb physical and mental properties from any living being or thing, including Superman.
Lex could "hire" him to kill Superman... or something? And maybe later betray him and when Parasite realise that Lex betrayed him he could come after him?... But Lex has new weapons and mercenary/criminal John Corben, who later execepts Luthors deal to make him more powerful, that he could kill Supes and that insane thing, Parasite.
Metallo is born!

So... how it sounds?:)

this just the synopsis for the Birthright series, which i dont mind them using it but if its better if they use bits of it like him travelling the world and use bits from johns secret origins

sounds a lot like birthright which is good cause i really enjoyed it!

but bring on Brainiac or someone he can punch because we need some epic superman battles!

I loved birthright. I read it YEARS ago it was a great book and one of my favs for Big Blue. But this story for the film sounds lame...boring and it doesn't sound like much ACTION will be in it- just another boring film for Superman. -_-

I really hope this isn't the real deal. And oh yeah @Leee, give it up dude- Routh aint returning. =) WB already said they are planning to make a star out of the NEW Superman actor. That says it all that they want to distance themselves from Routh and Superman Returns as much as humanly possible...thank god.

It doesnt need to be whole action from the beginning to the end of the movie! That would be dumb! We need a good storyline too and this sounds much much better than some Superman Returns.

i personally think that this plot is perfect, that is the exact way to reboot superman. change the story a little bit, but keep the main idea of his origin. If they film it right and and use the right actor like bandon routh ot tom welling then this movie is gonna kick so much ass..i cant wait for it to be released.

NO! This is not the direction we should go with Superman at all. There isn't even a mention of a villain. We need some serious conflict and a way to put Superman in real jeopardy. A Darkseid story line is perfect not just because it provides that conflict but also because it takes Superman to a place he has never been in Cinema, off world, (yeah I know he fly’s in space and on the moon and went home in Returns but that’s not what I mean). The whole first movie should almost entirely take place off world on Apocalypse and New Genesis; with Superman battling in a far away land to keep Earth safe (a lot like our men and women in the military). Then in the second movie he returns to Earth and BAM, Doomsday! Third movie could revolve around Brainiac. Boom there’s your trilogy, down and dirty.

@tenaciousbt and ralphmouth- Don't worry guys, you notice this rumored storyline for the film has changed a bit from the first one that leaked online about a month ago? That tells me this is nothing more than just rumor. Until Snyder confirms it, I won't lose any long sleep over this. ^_^

But if this is indeed the storyline...then god help us we might be in store for another terrible Superman film. -_- people in Hollywood just don't GET Superman.
