Could We See Corey Feldman Back As Donatello In NINJA TURTLES?

Ever since Corey Feldman (Lost Boys, The Goonies) voiced purple bandanna wearing Turtle Donatello in the original TMNT movie, the various incarnations of the character since seem to have taken some inspiration from him. Some of the other actors from the original movies have expressed their displeasure at the direction the Michael Bay produced reboot is taking, but Feldman has remained a staunch supporter. A lot of fans seem to want him back in the role too, and now in an interview with Movieweb, the former Frog brother reveals that he has been in contact with Bay - not necessarily about returning, but it sounds like it was at least discussed..

"..I will say this much. Michael Bay and I have become social acquaintances. We have traded cell phone numbers. We have been in communication. I have let him know that I support the project. He has let me know that he is a fan of my work. Its kind of...We are communicating. I wouldn't say there has been a formal offer, or anything like that. Its not even really going to be Michael Bay's decision. It's going to be the director of the film's decision."

Feldman goes on to once again praise the new vision for the movie, Bay's "tried and tested" formula for success, suggesting that fans should trust him to deliver once again with Ninja Turtles. One problem there Corey, financially successful Bay's films may be, but it's the QUALITY of this movie fans are worried about. Still, I guess we can take comfort in the fact that Bay won't be directing, that'll be Jonathan Liebsman!! Yeah, adjust your expectations accordingly Turtle fans. first off i LOATHE that artwork and the other one of the four turtles that looks similar. that style is too tortoise-like & i [frick]ing can't stand it & pray that they model the gang after the early image comics or at least what we got from 2007's TMNT film. that snout drives me crazy, please don't let it look like that above pic!

second, i don't mind feldman coming back for donatello at all - AS LONG AS he is not portrayed as a goofball. don should be a serious geek or something like that. intelligent, thoughtful, maybe even a little withdrawn due to being lost in his thoughts or just deep in contemplation. a tortured genius of sorts. he can be close with mike, but for gods sakes i don't want any [frick]ing fart jokes between the two. the way they leave him at the end of the 'city at war' storyline is perfection.

Screw him,he's has a terrible voice & zero talent.
He tried to be vocalist in a band & what i heard made my ears bleed.

Use the guy voicing Donnie on the current tv show,he sounds cool & that show is fantastic.

The teaser photo isn't even the version of Donatello that Feldman voiced. Feldman left for the second film and came back for the third.

@jingorot

Just because people don't know the original comic series exists doesn't mean it doesn't matter. That's like saying people don't know that Superman is actually an alien from another planet, can fly, or is actually Clark Kent. ALL of those three things matter for Superman because that is who he is and is his origin. The turtles have an origin that is based on the comics and was warped to sell toys in the 80s by turning it in to a child-friendly cartoon. The same was done with G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, and virtually every other cartoon series from the 80s and 90s. The origin, and I use that term loosely, that most people know is from that cartoon they grew up with. It's not a true origin or back story that is what the original turtles were based on. The comics should be what the new movie should be based on, not some campy cartoon made to sell toys.

jingorot@ You say Tomontherun had a shit argument? That's ironic. Just because a lot of people don't know that the TMNT is a comics franchise does not mean that it is not a comics based franchise.
And I'll let that fact speak for itself.
Okay, so the comics TMNT have never been as popular as the cartoon or film versions. Concrete is not that well known either, but I'm pretty sure that if there was a cartoon version of the character, the actual comics fans would still want a movie to be based on the actual comics and not the cartoon. The Crow and Hellboy weren't well known to non-comics fans either. Are you saying that if there were cartoons based on these characters (that would obviously have to be radically different in order to sell to kids) that the movie versions should have been based on those cartoons instead of the comics?
And what about Batman (classic example). People were much more familiar with the TV show than with the comics, but if Tim Burton had done a version based on the TV show it would have been a terrible blasphemous tragedy. Thank fvck he didn't. Schumacher, however, did and that was indeed a terrible blasphemous tragedy.
When you are talking about a much beloved comics franchise being turned into a Hollywood movie you are going to have fans of the comics going on websites about movies based on comics (probably with names like... I dunno... Comicbookmovie.com? Stuff like that) talking about how they hope that the film will regard the beloved material that it is based on. These are the true die-hard fanboys and fangirls and this is the community that you are currently voicing your opinion in.
I hope you get my point, because I'm going to stop patronising you, now.

On topic, if Corey Feldman came back to voice Donatello then I actually think that that particular spoonful of sugar would indeed help this inevitable bag of shit go down a little better. That would be the only good thing about this movie so far. That and the fact that they're making one at all.
