First Look At The New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon

Check out the first glimpse of some artwork for the revamped TMNT toon that will air on Nickelodeon sometime this year..

The first pic comes via Topless Robot , the second a scan from The Wall St Journal(via /Film). Not too much is know about the new show. But these pics of Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michaelangelo look ok. Nothing spectacular in the way of a revamp though. Aside from that I thought the last TMNT cartoon was great! Anyway, we are getting another one whether we like it or not. What do think of these new Turtle pards? Your singing that theme song in your head now ain't cha?




















There was also a movie rumored a while back. Again, I thought the last CGI movie we got was fine. It lost it a bit towards the end but entertaining enough. Why keep reboot/imagine/invent/remaking these things when they were fine first time around?

I hope they actually use their weapons in this cartoon, I can't specifically remember anyone getting cut or poked in the original, maybe I'm wrong.

Nothing beats the one I grew up with from the 90s. Classic. The live-action movies sucked ass though.

I need to see more. Right now, the designs look ok, but I can't really get a feel for what the show will be like.

i like how they got their arms and legs wrapped too. takes away some of the uniformity. makes it more gritty. so in a way it follows the old comics.

On the question of "why reboot": it is because the turtles were sold, they are now owned solely by Nickelodeon and not by their creators. Turtles Forever was the end of the original turtles, and it was awesome.

raph's sai looks sweet too. and mikey doesnt have a nunchuck. its like some long chain with a metal end. not traditional but i would asume you could do some cool scenes with him being all crazy and awesome with it. i approve all the way. bring it on!

The first turtles movie was great, the second OK, the third a turd. The CGI 4th I really liked. And @Harrison, I thought Turtles Forever to be one of the most enjoyable movies I have seen in recent times.

@ Alex I agree, it seems like they've been basing it off of, the cheesy cartoon. We need it to be like the comics. I hated the 2003 version, why would they make Shredder a alien.

you are so right, Turtles Forever is brilliant, a superb ending to the Turtles franchise

Something tells me this new Turtles cartoon wont match the standard of the others

if it wasnt for the Nickolodeon take-over of the Turtles, I really wish they had done another couple of seasons of the 2003 animated series. It was so good, the perfect mixture of humour & drama (well except for the awful Fast Forward but the last season made up for it)

If this supposed movie reboot is still going ahead, I hope its damn good and has the style of the earlier seasons of the 2003 animated series

I liked the last cartoon they did. Thought that got as close to the comics as I've seen.

It's cool to see TMNT still going strong. The sad thing is that they lack the hardcore mussle the old Turtles had. They were maxed out and looked like they would beat you down. These guys look like the old turtles when they were eight.
