A brief history about the DC comic book character of Christopher Chance:

Human Target was introduced to audiences as the secondary star of DC Comics' Action Comics, where he served in assorted back-up features while the title's primary focus remained on the character of Superman. Chance would go on to appear an a variety of other DC productions, most notably (along with a slew of other DC gumshoes) in a special story, "The 'Too Many Crooks...' Caper", in the 500th issue of Detective Comics.

Then he went on to a ABC TV series in 1992 which starred former pop star Rick Springfield it lasted 7 episodes which aired in the summer of 1992 although the pilot itself was never aired and was produced in 1990. A 48-page one-shot titled The Human Target Special #1 came out too. Then in 1999, writer Peter Milligan and the late Edvin Biukovic revived Christopher, moving the character to DC Comics' Vertigo imprint for a 4-issue mini-series, which was followed by the graphic novel Human Target: Final Cut, and finally into an ongoing series.

Human Target Season 1, Episode 7, 3/10/2010.

Just saw it last night for the first time. Great action!

If this show fails Fox' ad department is to blame. If from the start they had billed this show as being based off a comic it may have brought more viewers. Most people I've talked to about it are judging it by the commercials alone; and most think it looks way over the top. But once I say it's based off a comic I get the same reaction of "Oh that makes since"

Great show, love the vertigo series. The show is very loosely based on that series and a bit of the humor is from the original series as well as a lot of original ideas.

Too bad FOX will probably cancel it, if not this season, half way into next.

Mark Valley has to play Captain America! The last Human Target, showed him skydiving - all I could think was, man that guy sure looks like Steve Rogers....

Last night's episode was fantastic!
A lot of thinking went into that one!
The way it started out was amazing!

I love the way they start this show
with throwing you right into the
action right off the bat! The writing
to me is the best thing in this show
and that's saying a lot cuz everything
else is top notch!

The dialog is intelligent and genuinely
funny! It's witty and snappy and goes
hand in hand with the snappy action!
I love this show! I sure hope they
don't cancel it!!!

The fight in the elevator between chance
and the evil old highly-skilled head of
security was one of the most gritty and
genuine fight scenes I've seen on TV
in a long time! This stunt group doing
these stunts for this show are simply
amazing!

Yeah, Valley sure does look like the
"NOW" version of Steve Rogers, all
kidding aside! And he really is a
former soldier! What more could you want???

You mean Mark Valley looks like an aged Captain America. Each episode I watch the lines and age in his face show more and more. Way to old for Cap, who needs to be in his mid-twenties. Give it up already. ;-)

Roscoe182 @ Yeah man!! Hey he's good for a present day CAP, like in the comics right now, not when the AVENGERS first found him of course lol!

Cheers and keep watching dude!

You know... they could do the anti-aging thing from Benjamin Button when he is in WWII. Then, after 70 or so years in ice, he could "age" just a bit... like he had a super slow heart beat and slowly aged 20 years or something. I just think a young guy is not going to boss RDJ around...it would look silly.
Plus, a few wrinkles and scars show that is battle hardend s.o.b. Something this movie needs....
Clutchplayer
Clutchplayer - 2/19/2010, 6:29 PM
Oh, another thing, if the movie was made today, 2010, here are the rest of the ages:
Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) 62 years old
Iron Man (RDJ) 45 years old
Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) 41 years old
Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) 42 years old
War Machine (Don Cheadle) 46 years old
so... ranger14, I don't think I will drop it
Captain America (Mark Valley) 46 years old... so what!

@Clutchplayer

You got a point; it is called acting. If Mel Gibson can play the part in Braveheart who was supposed to be like twenty when he was almost forty. Why the hell can't Mark Valley do the same?

Besides have you ever seen pictures from WWII? Everyone looked way older back then.
