After the rousing success of Marvel's Daredevil, we have our first look at the Netflix block's next big villain, Zebediah Kilgrave AKA The Purple Man. Here's David Tennant (of 'Doctor Who' and 'Broadchurch' fame) in costume as the famously sadistic adversary to Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones.

So that means we've officially had a look at all the major villains in Marvel's announced upcoming projects for 2015. What do you guys think of the Purple Man's look?

After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. Starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave), with Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker), and Carrie-Anne Moss,
A.K.A Jessica Jonesis produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Tennant will own as Purple Man. So much potential there if they let this thing go dark enough. And after watching a couple of episodes of Daredevil I have faith that they will.

Oh, well that's a bit disappointing. I wanted full blown Purple Man not just a guy who wears alot of purple clothes... David Tennant will still knock this role out of the park

I'm in episode 8 of Daredevil now, and if D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk can be used as a benchmark for the Netflix Marvel villains... very, very much looking forward to Purple Tennant!

The 2015 baddies are as follows:

Daredevil: Kingpin.
Age of Ultron: Ultron.
Ant-Man: Yellowjacket.
AKA Jessica Jones: Purple Man.

The only wildcard is Yellowjacket. Otherwise, this is probably the strongest year of Marvel villains yet!

Brilliant casting.
He's gonna be great as Purple Man
I hope they stay true to Jessica's origins and her tragedy, it really is imperative to the shaping and moulding of her character.

I do wish they do go for the purple skin.
It won't look corny when it's put in the context of this universe and it's dark gritty tone.

This could be a flashback to prior to his accident.

I don't think they'll make his skin purple.......Shame.

A little disappointing but not that shocked (because of the whole realistic grounded approach.) I hope while he uses his powers, his skin turns purple, that could possibly work.

I have an old comic of Daredevil with his yellow suit fighting the Purple Man, could be the first appearance of the Purple Man

Nice.
My only gripe about Daredevil is the violence ... I mean I'm not a p*ssy or anything like that, but all the decapitations and impalements and pulling ribs out of chests is excessive. My biggest 'WTF moment' was that episode where the guy impaled his own head on the spike.

Like, what the [frick]? Nobody would do that in a million years.

Good show though, all in all.

Okay, I'm sure in a million years there was ONE person who purposely impaled their head on a giant spike, but still, Jesus.

I hope they drop the whole chemical pheromone power thing, I would rather him be able to manipulate and break people down through his own intellect and understanding of people's emotions, mental states and body language. Giving him a "power" that does it just cheapens the whole thing.

I'm sure they'll use purple lighting at one stage to make him appear purple. Purple skin would just look stupid and too out there. He can still have the skin condition that does something to him.

@CombatWombat

Personally, I loved the violence, haha, and it fit perfectly in "Hell's Kitchen". That scene in particular was really important too because he chose to impale his own head because facing the consequences was worse

He probably wont turn purple until the end hopefully his powers look as good as scarlet witches

I hope Marvel doesn't go too far with this whole "gritty realism" thing, and not give him purple skin. Like Cherry said, if they play him up as really creepy it won't at all come off as corny. Don't FOX this up Marvel, remember who you are!

@CombatWombat

Yeah there was a lot of unnecessary shock violence in the show at times. Took me out of the show a couple of times.
