We have already heard a few hints from Kinberg as to the direction the X-Men: First Class sequel may take, but now while speaking to Collider he goes a little more in-depth -- not plot wise (obviously!), but he does suggest that this sequel will take things up a notch in the drama/spectacle departments. He says he, Vaughn, and writing partner Jane Goldman have been given a bit of freedom to get creative because of Fox's success with not only the first film, but the likes of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and Chronicle too. He also says, most intriguingly, that the sequel will be "unlike the other X-Men movies and yet very much a celebration of the X-Men movies.".

He adds..

"We really went into it, Matthew, Jane and myself, just wanting to create a movie that was as… I’m very proud of First Class… as dramatic as that movie. I think it is as dramatic as that movie, but more epic, mythic in a way as well. So, there are ideas that we’ve started with that haven’t survived, there are ideas that we started with from conversations we had from making First Class that are going to be in the sequel."

Those ideas that haven't survived could well be the whole notion of Magneto being responsible for the death of JFK - something put forward by Vaughn when asked where he would like to see a sequel go, soon after the first film's release.
