For those who really want to see Nathan Fillion re-team with director Joss Whedon for a future
Avengers film, you may be disappointed. Speaking with
Digital Spy, Fillion (who previously worked with Whedon on
Firefly,
Serenity and
Buffy The Vampire Slayer) was asked about his possible involvement with the already announced sequel to
Marvel's The Avengers, and he suggests that he may not be "famous enough" for such a role.
"I have to be honest. The entertainment industry is an industry. I love telling stories but finance does meet art. If I were in charge of an Avengers sequel I would be very concerned about what kind of money I could make back overseas, and these kinds of things. I'm not quite at that level yet where I could just be plopped in there but I'm getting there."
The actor (who also stars in the television series
Castle) added,
"I've had more than my fair share of Joss Whedon projects. I find it very difficult, even being the selfish kind of guy I am, to say 'give me more'."
Fillion has been a fan favorite for the role of Hank Pym/Ant-Man for a while, despite the actor saying that he wasn't interested in playing the character. But, should Fillion have a future role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who would you like to see him play? I personally would like to see him play Star-Lord in the planned
Guardians Of The Galaxy movie.
