The Dark Knight Rises Casting Reports May Have Been Premature

THR is reporting that despite reports circulating online earlier today, Naomi Watts and Eva Green have not been cast in The Dark Knight Rises.

The film reportedly needs to fill two prominent female roles, a love interest and a villain.

This from Heat Vision...

Sources tell Heat Vision that Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel are due to test for roles in the Warner Bros. superhero tentpole in the next two weeks. Also testing are relative newcomers Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley. Hot British actress Gemma Arterton was also scheduled to test but, as Heat Vision first reported last week, Arterton just landed the female lead in Paramount's Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and might now have scheduling issues.

Hawksblueyes: There's some fairly decent names being tossed around in this report. I don't think I would mind any of the lady's mentioned, getting a part in the film.

"May Have Been Premature".

...No, You think? Haha I won't believe anything about this film until it is in an official press release. Otherwise, the rest of the nonsense everyone is yelping over from the past few weeks holds no more water than frikkin' CHER as Catwoman. This is all just as ridiculous! Crazy media, I tell yah!

Underworld: When this was reported earlier on CBM it was news and it was reported on every single site that reports movie news. That is, every site that came across it.

All we can do here is report what comes out, as it comes out. If we didn't, people like you would be saying "Hey! such and such site is reporting this and that, why aren't you?"

@Underworld- Ive said it once and I'll say it again, 'If you dont like it here, take your RAINBOW ASS to another site.' As for TDKR, I completely trust Nolan to make a great movie NO MATTER WHO IS CAST.

Paramount is hard at work trying to make Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, a reality. It is described as a “dark action movie that picks up with the fairy tale siblings years after the traumatic childhood incident has turned them into bounty hunters.” The role of Hansel is anticipated to go to The Town‘s Jeremy Renner, who is also Hawkeye for Marvel’s The Avengers.
There’s no word on whether actors will use German accents and wear lederhosen, but if THR said it, we tend to believe this is a serious film. It could work. I mean Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale) was entertaining, right?
The big news is who is said to be joining Renner as his sister, Gretel. I guess they won’t be kissing, right? Its actress Gemma Arterton, a real beauty and a favorite of ours here at BSC. I saw her first as Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace, the follow up to Casino Royale. In such a small role, the lady still managed to electrify. It won her an Empire Award for Best Newcomer. Of course, she also starred in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the Clash of the Titans remake, and Tamara Drewe.
THR reported, “director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) is hoping to begin shooting the project in Berlin March 7th” and Arterton beat out Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds), Eva Green (Casino Royale) and Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the original) for the role. Renner, on the other hand is also set to appear in Paramount’s Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

When it comes to Batman movie news I don't buy it unless it's on BOF... Jett seems to have the most legit news without major spoilers.
