IRON MAN 3: Does The Mandarin Have Some Connection To Captain America?

A screencap from today's trailer has had a few of us buzzing on Twitter. The image shows Ben Kingsley's Mandarin from the back, with a tattoo visible on his neck that appears to at least resemble Cap's shield. Have a look for yourselves and join the speculation..

As you can see, that tattoo clearly resembles Captain America's shield, but with am "A" set in the center. A for Avengers? Maybe, but our own Josh Wilding points out that in a recent interview, Kevin Feige explained that The Mandarin uses "symbolism of various cultures and iconography that he perverts for his own end.". That could certainly explain the shield, and that A looks very like the symbol for "Anarchy", perhaps twisting the very ideals the shield represents. Is this just a throwaway nod for the fans that we are reading too much into? Or will this villainous character have some sort of connection to Steve Rogers, perhaps tying this movie into Captain America: The Winter Soldier or the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.
