Jessica Chastain Has 'Never' Talked With Marvel Studios About Playing CAPTAIN MARVEL
The Interstellar star has taken to Twitter to confirm Carol Danvers is neither the superheroine she and Marvel Studios are currently discussing, nor is it the character she recently referred to passing on.
During an interview with MTV News posted earlier today, Jessica Chastain had confirmed that, after turning down a "boring civilian role" in Iron Man 3, she and Marvel Studios have talked about joining forces on another project. Without going into specifics, the two-time Oscar-nominated actress also said that she came close to nabbing a role where "there was a possibility [...] of the character becoming" a full-on superheroine in the future. This has caused some to believe that she was referring to Carol Danvers a.k.a Captain Marvel, who is heavily rumored to be introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron next summer before getting her own standalone movie on July 6, 2018.
Well, despite Jessica Chastain acknowledging later during the same MTV interview that she knows about the Captain Marvel movie and its release date, the Interstellar star has taken to Twitter to set one thing straight. "Oops uh oh...." she tweeted, "I've never had talks about Captain Marvel. Was referring to a different film from over a year ago, in my recent MTV interview." Of course, this does not rule out Jessica Chastain as a potential candidate for Carol Danvers... whenever casting for the Captain Marvel movie gets officially underway (if it hasn't already). However, it could mean there is another Marvel character that she's considering playing. What do you think?
