Over at Hero Complex, Geoff Boucher has quotes from the main men involved with WB's Green Lantern. And although they don't reveal anything new plot wise, they do give us some interesting reasons why they feel Green lantern will set itself apart from the similar fare coming our way. Here are some excerpts.

Director Martin Campbell explains what makes his movie unique..

“The interesting part of all this is to take a hero and take an adventure and then go out there,” the filmmaker said pointing to the ceiling and beyond. “That’s something you haven’t really seen.”

"This was a chance to do some things I’ve never done before. We have a story that is very human and very much about human emotions but what’s within that story takes us off-world and into some alien settings that are extraordinary.”

Also, visual effects supervisor Jim Berney weighs in with why he thinks Green Lantern will take things to the next level..

“Look, to me, Spider-Man, Batman and those movies, I don’t know where you go with those other than plugging in another bad guy. They did an amazing job with those last two Batman movies but really [visually] where do you go with those characters? You’re still in New York or in Gotham. With this you go on and on. The characters, the planets, the reach…this is the hero who takes it the next level and beyond.”

There is more over at Hero Complex from Ryan Reynolds, but it's the same old "Han Solo/Star Wars" spiel he has given about 45 times already. Click the link below to check it out anyway. Green Lantern hits theaters June 17th.

As a Lantern fan, it would be so sick if this franchise really took off and we got to see more 2814 Lanterns like Guy and Kyle in future movies. It will be kick-ass (pun kind of intended) to see Mark Strong fully take over his villianous role in the sequel too.

Seeing as there are more Green Lantern's than just him, how will the general public react when/if the next movies shift Hal Jordan OUT of the protagonist role? Just a question for thought

what an ignorant argument! whether its New York, Gotham, Oa, Space, WHEREVER, a set is a set is a set. Yeah, we've never seen a movie set in space before!

what a total MORON, "to take a hero and take an adventure and then go out there. That’s something you haven’t really seen." WOW, I've really never seen a movie with a hero AND an adventure!!

Aside from these ridiculous comments Green Lantern looks like a fun ride, a hero, an adventure, a bad guy, hot chick; yeah, all the regular CBM ingredients.

I'm 24 and I've been waiting for this movie since I was 8 years old. Since I first read Emerald Twilight. I have faith that this movie will be solid and if it isn't it will still make an crap load of money and then the sequel will likely be flawless because Warner Bros. clearly has learned a lot from this experience.

Martin Campbell talks about really going 'out there' and Berlanti talks about visuals. Combined, you get Green Lantern's costime which visually, is just really out there.

Nicely put. No one can argue that one. Batman does tend to get around tho, Spiderman will always be a street level hero, he cant just up an go to Brazil if he wanted to but he does and good job just being that street level hero.

I am 32 and I have been waiting for this film my whole life!! at least Flash had a live action TV show in the 90's .. the only time I saw a live action Green Lantern was in a Cheesy JLA tv move from the 90's and a cheesy TV show called "Legend of Superheroes" from the early 80's... that starred Adam West and Burt Ward.
