Brian Bendis was part of a conference call with comic book retailers and the subject jumped to his work on the forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Now! and then jumped over to the comic book adaptation from director James Gunn. Here's what Bendis had to say about the rumors swirling around the film.
Bendis neither confirms or denies the rumor of Iron Man appearing in GotG but explains why the idea has a few merits, at least from his personal viewpoint.
Bendis: Tony standing back and wondering what the Earth needs from him… what he can do for the Earth, for the galaxy… and then taking that back into his next Avengers adventure is a good story worth telling with Tony Stark.
Bendis also comments on another rumor. This time on the two candidates thought to be up for the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey.
Bendis: Adam Sandler would be good, but Jason Statham would be good also.

Jason Statham wouldn't be a bad pick for Rocket Racoons in my opinion. Guardians of the Galaxy is currently set for an August 1, 2014 release. It will be directed by Gunn based off a script last worked on by Gunn with previous iterations handled by Chris McCoy and Nicole Perlman.
Based on the Marvel comic books of the same name, Guardians of teh Galaxy features an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. A U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.
