Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

What a waste of Ophelja Lovibond.
Wish she had a bigger and better role!

I could totally see her as Crystal in an Inhumans movie.

I know this is probably not true but I felt that the Aether could be seen in one of the Collector's display cases. When they first met him on Knowhere one of the cases is very foggy with a glowing red hue in it.

I wonder what happened to it or where it was contained when the explosion happened. Not that it seems that would have really affected it.

Mining. The Head. Of a Celestial.

That is THE strangest, craziest thing I have seen in a marvel film yet. I mean it's amazing... it's an incredibly bizarre sight to behold.

But also doesn't exactly fit with Marvel's depiction of them. I mean other than Apocalypse who was able to use Celestial technology to upgrade himself, most in the universe would not be able to utilize Celestial tech, especially coming from their physical bodies. because with them technology and and their physical bodies evolved together to the point where there's no difference between the two. What looks like battle armor on the outside is actually a living part of their bodies. When Thor cracked one of their heads open, what he found inside was not a skull underneath. In fact a whole lot of it didn't make sense at all, but he did locate a brain which destroyed Mjolnir. The thing has cervical vertebrae. Most Celestials don't have necks. There looks like there is a mouth area. But no Celestial has ever been observed eating. Or even having any kind of a jaw. They've been seen ABSORBING GALAXIES... That's probably closer to their method of eating.

This leads me to my next point which is that Celestials being nearly omnipotent... wouldn't it seem odd that they would actually leave one of their dead just lying around? Unless this is some kind of deal where the celestial got beheaded somehow while it was out of touch with it's group.

In any case I'm not really complaining... but these are just some things I thought of as my jaw dropped open in the theater. Cool image, if a bit strange.

Anyone else seen Vin Diesel's latest post? A picture of Groot and saying "I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I'm Inhuman... Haha." Think he is just playing around and has seen people guessing Black Bolt?

@Killersloth

He'd be an amazing Black Bolt!!
Like, because he won't speak, which is he opposite of Groot, so a perfect way to differentiate between the two roles. Ah man, I really hope Marvel announces Inhumans soon!

Lockjaw should've definitely had a cameo in Guardians.

@ CherryBomb

Lockjaw will probably be the first Inhuman we will meet,
end credit sequence in some future movie
the kirby krackle fills the air and through the sparks and filling the screen ,an oversized slobbering dog materialises,
camera rises to reveal behind the dog...a blurred rendition of yer inhumans....

thanks for inspiring me to get that scene in my head cherrybomb

Eh, Inhumans are the poor mans Mutants. I have yet to read an Inhuman comic that I really enjoyed. BB is cool by all means, but I'd rather see that Howard the Duck MCU flick ;D ...for serious though.

I am going to see it again as I fooled myself into 3d mode which is just a load of layers and concentrating on the 3d hurt my eyes and my head.

These stills are a good reminder of what I saw.
