RUMOR: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Reportedly “Solidifying” Deal To Play ‘Batman’ In JUSTICE LEAGUE

Feeding speculation that ignited from the closing sequence of The Dark Knight Rises, new reputable sources claim that actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt will “absolutely” appear in WB's Justice League film.

Although Warner Bros. have yet to announce solid plans for a Justice League movie, countless rumors seemingly indicate that the flick is definitely in the works, low key. And now endorsing speculation that started with the closing sequence of director Christopher Nolan's epic Batman conclusion, The Dark Knight Rises, the folks from HitFix seem to know who'll take up Christian Bale's ‘Batman’ mantle in the DC superhero team-up movie. And if true, it's no big surprise.

According to their sources, The Dark Knight Rises' Robin ‘John Blake’ actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt will “absolutely” be starring in the Justice League movie as the new Dark Knight.

While this claim should be added to the pile of rumors that already exist, the site further claims that Warner Bros. are currently “solidifying” deals for Gordon-Levitt and another actor from the trilogy. If true, however, the Justice League film will definitely be in continuity with Nolan's trilogy. And Gordon-Levitt would be reprising his role from the The Dark Knight Rises, in which his character's true identity was revealed to be Robin. And that evidently means Justice League's Dark Knight won't be using the alias “Bruce Wayne.” What do you think?

It is also worth noting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was asked last month whether there were plans of what's being reported now. While denying there was anything underway then, he did add, “If the script inspires me and if there's a filmmaker that I respect and connect to...I'd consider anything.”

Anyhow, with Gangster Squad scribe Will Beall reportedly penning the film's screenplay, Justice League is said to follow next year's Man of Steel, and is scheduled for release in 2015.

There's no way that is happening.

John Blake can't be behind the mask, it has to be Bruce Wayne. DC/WB would never OK this.

If he is playing Bruce Wayne, then fine, just will need to bulk up. However what a wasted opportunity to have John Blake Batman with Superman on film rather than the proper version.

I'd say go with full rebooted Batman if honestT

I don't see this happening, too many people know Bruce Wayne to be Batman. I think if they do use JGL just have him play Bruce in the reboot.
Jaspion
Jaspion - 11/26/2012, 8:40 PM
Not only does he not fit the part but also if they continue the John Blake bullshit it would be the most stupid thing.. He can't be Batman, he's never had any [frick]ing training.

I know "Batman can be anyone" but not everyone can be Batman.

The only Justice League character I can imagine him playing is Barry, except he'd have to dye his hair, and that could look horrible.

You wanna launch Justice League sans Bruce Wayne? Nothing against JGL, I'd watch a Robin/Nightwing spinoff movie. But to launch JL without Bruce is ridiculous.

That would be the MOST terrible thing to do to a new franchise. No Bruce Wayne in the JLA... Saying that, unfortunately this will probably true and we can all act like we are excited for a JLA movie but inside we will all know its JLA without Batman

hahaha, if I were Bruce Wayne I would have left Blake a Jughead crown and been done with it.

Yeah, because Bruce Wayne not being behind the mask has NEVER happened before. Honestly, why should it matter whether or not it's Bruce Wayne or John Blake who dons the mask? How pretentious do you have to be to let that actually bring down the quality of a movie for you? Guess what? I wasn't a fan of Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, but that didn't stop me from enjoying all three (Yes, THREE you snobs) of the movies.
