UPDATE: President Obama Mixes Up STAR TREK & STAR WARS

At a press conference to discuss the looming sequester issue, President Obama mixes up his Star Wars with his Star Trek. Rage ensues. Now we have an official response from The POTUS. Love it! Issues aside, geekiest White House ever.

In summary, Obama stated that he is a president, not a dictator, and can't use a "Jedi mindmeld" to force Republicans' hands. Of course most fans will know that Jedi's do "mind tricks" and Vulcans perform a mindmeld. Maybe now that the whole fake geek girl hysteria has died down, the next thing will be fake geek POTUS?"

Updated: With official White House response. Love it!

What ever.

But not all people agree with you Obama. Sad the whole "gun rights" thing going about reminds me so much of Civil War and Minority Report it's shocking.

People want security over liberty. Only they will figure out ultimately they will loose both.

To hell with the global recession, billions in government cuts and the fiscal cliff.
I am enraged. Vulcans get no respect. Isn't that right Mr Russ, I mean Obama.

Well in all fairness you need to combine 3 franchises to get Congress to do what you want and even then it's a crapshoot on which one to use as the third franchise so nice try anyway.

@Mark Julian- Geekiest white house ever? Hardly, Obama is pretending to be a geek. Obviously mixing up Star Trek and Star Wars- nothing geeky about that and proves he doesn't know any of it and just pretends to.

But that isn't important, what's important are the issues and I highly doubt this guy will "fix" anything anytime soon.

well..like ANY politician from either party..u just never know what they think vs. what someone told them to say. Clearly NOT his gig and someone got mixed up...my favorite of all time is Faux Nuts Bill Krystal. He told VP Qualye to attack Murphy Brown...then he mis-spelled potato and it was on..i remember the season or series ending with them dumping a truckload of potatoes on his lawn...

Point being, he probably isnt really a fan, but is killer to know use 'geeks' have grown up and out into every faucet of life...

and btw...i hate both sides equally...but i think people harping on this makes them look stupid..just like the whole Oscars thing..Despite their politics, they get to be people too

"Obama stated that he is a president, not a dictator"

Not only does he mix up two cultural science-fiction universes, he is a liar too.

You don't HAVE to be an expert in either Star Trek or Star Wars to be a geek , you know. That's the exact opposite of what being a geek is about!

Clearly he doesn't know what a mindmeld is. Since he mixed up Spock's mindmeld with the Jedis from Star Wars.
