The Hollywood Reporter have an exclusive report with the news that Campbell Scott (Damages) has joined the cast of the upcoming reboot as Richard Parker, while Julianne Nicholson (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) is in talks to play the webslingers mother, Mary.
Irrfan Khan, best known for his work in
Slumdog Millionaire, is reported to be playing a villain named Van Atter while Annie Parisse (who had a recurring role on
Law & Order a few years back and recently appeared in HBO epic,
The Pacific) is said to be up for the role of his wife.
What's most interesting about this news, is the addition of a new villain who is (as far as I know) NOT a character taken from the comic books! "Van Atter" certaintly sounds like a scientists name, which would make sense with Rhys Ifans playing the Lizard...be sure to share your thoughts on these casting and character additions in the usual place!
