Michael Keaton's BATMAN Costume For THE FLASH Rumored To Be Inspired By KINGDOM COME

The recent news that original big-screen Batman Michael Keaton was in talks to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman for Warner Bros.' upcoming The Flash/Flashpoint movie has resulted in a lot of rumor and speculation (and more than a little speculation presented as rumor) doing the rounds, and this latest report from DCEU Mythic relates to the costume the Academy Award-nominated actor is expected to don when he suits back up as The Dark Knight.

According to Jeremy Conrad's "reliable source," Keaton's Batsuit will be "heavily inspired" by the armored outfit the older Bruce Wayne in Mark Waid and Alex Ross' classic 1996 miniseries, Kingdom Come. This comes on the heels of THR's confirmation that the character will indeed be suiting up in The Flash.

How much stock should we put in this? Well, the source has had some pretty big stories pan out in the past, but this particular "rumor" feels more like an educated guess to us. After all, it wouldn't exactly be a surprise if WB and director Andrés Muschietti looked to one of the most well-known older Batman stories for inspiration for their older Batman - especially since The Dark Knight Returns suit was utilized for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

What do you guys make of this? Drop us a comment in the usual place.

Ok but they've gotta bring back the old suit too!

Still think this is a really dumb idea overall. But there seems to be excitement for it, so what do I know?

@Kyos - People seem to love nostalgia, sometimes even more than good story-telling

it would be so much cooler if they had Keaton's Batman wearing the Batsuit from the 1989 Batman film

Why does DC have such a huge boner for Kingdom Come's costumes?

They could put him in the Zebra outfit for all I care. The only thing I ask is that they give him the yellow bat symbol. Pls bring this back

One bad decision after another. Do I want to see Keaton come back in some way shape or form, sure, if done right. But how big are Jason Momoa, Henry Cavil and Gal, then you have 68 year old, who know how old by them Keaton making Bruce look pathetic.

Old Bruce works in Batman Beyond, but having geriatric Batman standing side by side w/ current Sups and Aquaman and even Cyborg is only going to become a meme about how lame DC has become.

This from a hardcore DC fan who worships at the Bats feet. Truth is I’m not even all hyped for Pattinson, while the MCU continues to expand and tell more incredible stories for its vast library, DC is making stand alone films about Joker and a whole standalone trilogy, while simultaneously pushing Harley garbage into every movie, and denying fans another, properly done, Superman movie.

DC’s characters and their rich history’s are beyond diamond mines of wealth and it’s all being squandered away by the horrible decisions being made by AT&T and some DC big wigs.

Props to Marvel for showing us the way, I only hope DC can get out of the quicksand it’s found itself in or things don’t look great.

@MuadDib - keaton is great but introducing a super old batman is a big mistake unless hes taken a dip in the lazurus pit. This is your dceu batman? Batman beyond is the only thing that could possibly make sense.

Hopefully Marlon Wayans will be in this movie too. I remember he was to be Robin in Batman Forever, but when Tim Burton left, he also left.

Marlon got paid for playing Robin, even though he never suited up and still to this day get royalties for that movie, so let him finally play Dick Grayson.

@JustAChillFan - Wait, I thought it was Harley who has to be in everything.

@RolandD - I'll admit the animated show is pretty good, but they really gotta branch out sometimes.

Just thought I'd leave this here. Best live-action Batman suit ever.

I'll give @Nomis the Keaton cowl though, (as long as they let him turn his head. LOL).
