While Daredevil: Born Again's plot is mostly shrouded in secrecy, there have been rumours for a while now that we'll see Wilson Fisk go from Kingpin of Crime to Mayor of New York City.
Just like his comic book counterpart, it seems the villain hopes to clamp down on vigilantes like Daredevil and Spider-Man (and possibly superheroes in general). Heck, with General "Thunderbolt" Ross taking aim at the Oval Office in Captain America: New World Order, if he's eventually outed as Red Hulk, the door may even be opened to Fisk one day becoming U.S. President.
That would turn the MCU on its head, and even just making The Kingpin the Big Apple's Mayor explains rumours about the Man Without Fear joining the wall-crawler in Spider-Man 4.
Now, new photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again have shown Vincent D'Onofrio posing with fans and wearing an American flag pin on his suit.
That's commonplace for those running for office in the United States, and this isn't the first time the villain's aspirations have been teased in photos from the show's set. Extras at Times Square were spotted decked out in apparel supporting Fisk, while LED screens at the iconic landmark have boased phases such as, "The choice between good and evil."
We're definitely intrigued to see where all this is heading and just how much power the Kingpin of Crime will acquire in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With so much focus on the Multiverse in this Saga, we can only hope it doesn't get overshadowed by Kang the Conqueror. At this point, Fisk is arguably looking like the more exciting choice of big bad, regardless.
