DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Set Photos Appear To Confirm A Recent Rumor About What The Kingpin Is Up To

New photos taken on the New York set of Daredevil: Born Again lend some weight to recent rumours that Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin of Crime is looking to acquire more power than ever before in the series.

While Daredevil: Born Again's plot is mostly shrouded in secrecy, there have been rumours for a while now that we'll see Wilson Fisk go from Kingpin of Crime to Mayor of New York City.

Just like his comic book counterpart, it seems the villain hopes to clamp down on vigilantes like Daredevil and Spider-Man (and possibly superheroes in general). Heck, with General "Thunderbolt" Ross taking aim at the Oval Office in Captain America: New World Order, if he's eventually outed as Red Hulk, the door may even be opened to Fisk one day becoming U.S. President.

That would turn the MCU on its head, and even just making The Kingpin the Big Apple's Mayor explains rumours about the Man Without Fear joining the wall-crawler in Spider-Man 4

Now, new photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again have shown Vincent D'Onofrio posing with fans and wearing an American flag pin on his suit.

That's commonplace for those running for office in the United States, and this isn't the first time the villain's aspirations have been teased in photos from the show's set. Extras at Times Square were spotted decked out in apparel supporting Fisk, while LED screens at the iconic landmark have boased phases such as, "The choice between good and evil."

We're definitely intrigued to see where all this is heading and just how much power the Kingpin of Crime will acquire in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With so much focus on the Multiverse in this Saga, we can only hope it doesn't get overshadowed by Kang the Conqueror. At this point, Fisk is arguably looking like the more exciting choice of big bad, regardless.

Check out these new photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again below.

It would be great if Kingpin becomes the mayor of NYC.

Of course he would be better than the actual pitiful mayor & the even worse one that preceded him.

One of Fisk's best arcs was as mayor

Assuming, and hoping, if Fisk wins one of his first actions as mayor is ordering the DA to begin building cases against a number of New York City-based superheroes. And I assume Matt is now working in the DA's office so cue the drama. With 18 episodes, I figure one of the arcs will be Fisk in office.

@GhostDog - that would be pretty great to see. Even if it's not the over-arching narrative, with 18 episodes I atleast expect a small arc

@bkmeijer1 - the strength of that storyline, even in concept, is it breeds a good balance between Daredevil the vigilante and Murdock the lawyer. Daredevil stories are best when they manage to find a use for both and an antagonist who can also play both sides. A crime boss turned politician is absolutely perfect for that.

@GhostDog - f hollywood writers, get some of you guys on this site to come up with ideas for shows, they always sound so good compared to what we get.

@GhostDog - that is such a good explanation. Same reason why I like Two-Face as a Batman villain so much too

@Gizmoduck - Daredevil is my favorite comic book hero. Has been for years. I’m a pretty modest guy but I’ve been sitting on a Daredevil story that I think would be [frick]ing amazing as a film. I’ve had it in a folder on my desktop for years. Basically a pitch Bible for the movie that’s about 30 pages long

Superman solo film concept I developed years ago

@Gizmoduck - It's one thing to have an intriguing synopsis, it's a WHOLE different thing to write that story in detail and execute it with the acting and directing.

There's a reason there are professional writers hired to do these jobs. If anyone here was assigned that job, it would turn out to be a complete mess.

@Gizmoduck - Let me clarify. I shouldn't say ANYONE here. It's not impossible for someone here to be a fan and in early stages of a writing career. I just mean people here that have not writing experience and just outline a compelling idea. Anyone can do that.

Did they make him smaller again? He had a huge bodysuit in Hawkeye and now he's about the size he was in Daredevil. They need to make up their minds
GhostDog
GhostDog - 5/11/2023, 2:27 PM
@Boyle360 - Seems like they let the Hawkeye folks get comicbooky which is fine but consistency matters in a universe. Born Again is going more grounded. They could have his apparent injury from being shot lead to a loss in weight due to recuperating. I figure they won't address it though.

@Boyle360 - if you hadn't mentioned it, I probably wouldn't even notice it. Actors/characters have different postures all the time, so it's not something I notice quickly

Give him some lines like 'I don't even know who Dare Devil is, never met him'; 'fake news media witch haunt' and he'll easily win the Presidency.

Watch Disney turn an amazing, terrifying, and complex villain into a joke.

@SafeSpace - You realize Netflix Daredevil was still "Disney" right? And that these shows are now on Disney+...

These assumptive complaints are nonsense.
Urubrodi
Urubrodi - 5/12/2023, 5:43 AM
@Tonic24k - People around here have some selective memory about the Netflix shows acting like Disney had no part in it... I guess it makes them feel better to act like Disney is this horrible company that destroys everything that it touches
EnergyVamp
EnergyVamp - 5/13/2023, 2:34 AM
@Tonic24k - Different tone, different showrunner, different universe...but I am speaking nonsense. You are blind and deaf if you watched Hawkeye and She-Hulk and believe they will continue the dark gritty tone of the Netflix series. Don't bother responding to this comment. I aint reading any dogshit response from you. Good day.

I was so excited for the Netflix Daredevil because it was serious and mature but I can’t seem to muster up any excitement for a pg-13 Daredevil show. Hopefully it surprises me and is good. 🤷‍♂️
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 5/11/2023, 8:40 PM
@AnthonyVonGeek - Why are we assuming these will be "PG-13"?
AnthonyVonGeek
AnthonyVonGeek - 5/11/2023, 9:26 PM
@Tonic24k - cause all original Disney+ shows and movies have been G, PG and PG-13
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 5/15/2023, 4:52 PM
@AnthonyVonGeek - Well, tv shows have a different rating system, so that's not entirely accurate. But also, it has TV-MA content on it. One of which is Daredevil himself. So it's really still up in the air as to what tone this show will give us. And also, Bernthal said he wouldn't reprise his role as Punisher if it was a watered down version. And it was announced he was coming back for this show. So that's an indication he's getting what he wants. I do think they'll explore some lighter tone aspects. But I also think they know how to not disappoint us with the darker shit, too.

if he becomes mayor of nyc, chances are he will act like trumpy, or be trumpy-esque (which of course means that the writers will have his character embody the insanity)...which would be a huge turn off...one is enough, if you please...i liked him big, like in hawkeye...i still loved the physical presence of michael clark duncan from the movie...he felt denser and more frightening than vincent...although i think vincent is an amazing actor
Scarilian
Scarilian - 5/11/2023, 8:02 PM
Not only is this PG-13 Kingpin, but it's also likely going to be the writers using him as a method of bashing Trump because politics is also the writers of the MCU seem to care about now.
Urubrodi
Urubrodi - 5/12/2023, 5:47 AM
@Scarilian - Not sure if they were ever clear about the rating for this show, but if we remove the car door scene, Kingpin was not involved in many scenes that required an R rating. The character can still be portrayed like he used to be if they wanted to. Keep in mind that Hawkeye was meant to be more lighthearted and that characters need to be adapted to work on a different property. That's how it always was in comics.
