ANT-MAN Announcement Expected To Be Made At Today's IRON MAN 3 Panel?

We already know that Edgar Wright has shot a test reel of footage for Ant-Man, but it sounds as if either that or the confirmation of a release date will be revealed at today's Iron Man 3 panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. Read on for details.

Bleeding Cool, and several other reliable sites who were in attendance at last night's Item 47 screening, report that a very intriguing hint was dropped during a Q&A session which followed. A young fan asked whether Ant-Man or Wasp will appear in The Avengers 2 and while the panel remained silent and non-committal, host Anthony Breznican told him to make sure he's at the Iron Man 3 panel later today. This wasn't just an accidental slip of the tongue either. He repeated himself straight afterwards. However, Breznican has since denied saying this, although that's hardly surprising if he went and ruined Marvel's BIG surprise! If this does pan out, don't be surprised to see Edgar Wright in attendance. Will we get casting news; a release date perhaps? You'll have to stay tuned to CBM to find out!

Antman has so much potential to make a kickass film.

Awesome villain, great love interest, ties into the Avengers and SHIELD universe perfectly, and has a variety of powers that can be real cool on a silver screen.

Ant-man and wasp are just ridiculous characters. Movie audiences only want to see the primal characters that they know. For instance, Justice League will be making a mistake if they include either Cyborg or Martian Manhunter...wider audiences do not know nor care who they are. What they do know and want: Supes, Bats, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman (lesser degree), and Green Lantern (damaged by the recent atrocious GL film).

Why do people continue to chat on this website without thinking?

Antman and Wasp in the Avengers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cyborg or Martian Manhanter on the JLA.

They have more memorable story arcs, an actual villain who is a main force, and a developed romantic story line. Cyborg and Manhunter are just generic DCU characters.

@CrimsonReign

sorry but alot of people know Cyborg and Martian Manhunter. Cyborg and Martian Manhunter has appeared on tv shows and cartoons.

@RamonSuarez

Ant-Man and Wasp do have good story arc but the powers seems sometimes silly. when u think of Ant-Man powers he seems like a superhero version of Honey i Shrunk the kids. anyway i believe Edgar Wright will make Ant-Man great.

SMFH.. Not too happy about this. The only thing I like about ant-man are his screw ups. Ultron was the best thing to come from ant-man. I'd rather see yellow jacket, ant-man is so lame.

I hope they don't blow The Black Panther off for this!!

So Marvel's 2014 movie was Black Panther, now it is DEFINITELY GotG, but we should all expect an Ant-Man announcement... I think it's fair to say no one has any idea what Marvel is planning

I got a question i hope somebody knows the answer to.
Ok I know that sony owns Norman Osborn and i know that Disney owns Iron man, So my question is Hwo owns Iron Patriot???? Hwo owns that character on screen?? This is like one of the reason why i think marvel should buy back or sit down with sony and get it done!!

@KingMarvel: That's a very good question. I guess because the Iron Patriot suit is an Iron Man suit, then Marvel can use it as long as it isn't Norman Osborn wearing it. I could be wrong though.

Ant-man or wasp would probably be a box office dud. I just do not see people lining up for that.

@jazzman Of course, WE here at comicbookmovie know these characters but we do not matter in terms of broad audience appeal. I was not talking about us, I was talking about the public at large.

@RamonSuarez You did not understand my post at all. I did not say anything about whether or not they have good storylines. My commentary is based upon the fact that no one knows or cares who MM, Cyborg, Ant-man, or wasp are in terms of non-comic book fans but who are still the vast majority of moviegoers.

The success of Batman and Avengers is making these movie studios get overheated in terms of approving comicbookmovies that should probably not be made. Sort of like putting out Elektra or DareDevil rather than concentrating on the big names that broad audiences know and are interested in.

Honestly, I would really dig it if they did a "Tales to Astonish" movie and split it. Even time for an introduction to Ant-Man & the Wasp and then make the other half the Hulk. You've got your established money maker in Hulk, and a chance to showcase a couple of characters that could be considered (in some eyes) as hard sells.

Now me, I would love Ant-Man to get a feature length film to showcase his coolness and prove all the haters wrong. Plus I love the wasp... but if my choice is sharing screen time with ol Jade Jaws or nothing at all? Well, bring on "Marvel's Tales to Astonish"

I WOULD LIKE IT IF THEY JUST CALLED THE MOVIE "PYM" AND HAVE HIM HAVE A CHOICE TO EITHER BE ANT MAN OR GIANT MAN.
