While there was speculation that Nathan Fillion would be playing Ant-Man in Marvel's much anticipated
The Avengers, "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria was right there beside him in headlines portraying his wife the Wasp.
We know directly from Fillion &
The Avengers director Joss Whedon, that Ant-Man & presumably Wasp, won't be in first film. Well now according to
Fox News via
Showbiz Spy it seems Longoria may be playing the mini-avenger in the sequel.
“Marvel is in negotiations with Eva and she is just right for the role,” a source said. First, she read for the part, then she went into the studio for camera tests. The team liked her for The Wasp so much that she did green screen work in the late spring. She’s perfect in size and attitude."
“Eva is cute, sexy and full of energy for the part. The character is a bit like Gabby, her character on Desperate Housewives. The source said Eva will likely shoot her scenes in New York, where much of the film will be shot in the coming months.
And though is was said that filming is expected to begin early next year, the source says
“The movie is going to start filming this fall. There’s a lot going on, and scheduling all these busy actors is a task, but so far it seems like everyone’s schedule is coming together,”

DCMF - You can obviously take it with a grain of salt, but there a few ways this could be possible. And what I can make out is that Eva Longoria is set to be in the first film as a powerless character, Janet Pym; not Wasp. And to keep it a surprise, she shoots early scenes, cameo maybe, that'll set up her character for the solo
Ant-Man film. And then play WasP full-fledged in
The Avengers sequel. What do you think?
