Talking to The Playlist, directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have revealed that both they and Nicolas Cage are "intrigued" by the opportunity to return to the world of Ghost Rider for a third instalment in the franchise. "There's been talk about [a sequel]," Neveldine confirmed, revealing that they have already met with the studio. "I know Nic[olas Cage] wants to do it, he's very pumped about it. We'll just to see how well [this] does." While there has already been talk of a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man sequel being released in 2014, it's understandable that Sony want to wait and see exactly how well Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance performs at the box office when it goes on release this Friday. The only way I'd want to see a third is if they closely follow Jason Aaron's run on the comic.

Cant wait 2 c gr-sov. Most early reviews talked bout a lot of action. A whole new perspective for comic books and ghost rider.

Would love to see Trail of Tears or Heaven's On Fire as a flick. I just want someone other than Nic Cage as Johnny Blaze. Love Nic Cage, but I hate him as Ghost Rider.

I just don't have the hate for Nic Cage that some people seem to feel. While he would not be my first choice in the role, he's not all that horrible. The first film could have been a lot better, but it also could have been a lot worse. I found it entertaining enough to be willing to see this one, mostly because Ghost Rider is a fun character. I was never a fan of the comics and only knew of the character indirectly, so I don't care about how accurately it follows the comic stories.

This is one of the types of films where they may be able to make each film better than the last by getting rid of the stuff that didn't work. There was no chemistry between Eva Mendez and Cage last time, so I'm happy to see her gone. I'm just hoping for a better movie overall, and then I'll be willing to see a sequel.

Dan Ketch is in GR2 perhaps it will be a torch passing story where one Rider succeeds another.

I've been watching this board for a couple of years now and quite frankly I can't tell half the time if this is a CBM appreciation or a CBM bashing site. So this time it's Ghost Rider. Come on people, the trailer looks great. In comparison, when my girlfriend and I saw the trailer for Green Lantern we knew that it was not going to work (more on that at another time). As CBM fans we should be happy to have A list actors in our movies and I happen to like Nic Cage very much and I appreciate his passion for the Genre. We as CBM fans have an opportunity here to help promote what we love before they quit making them. Something to think about before you start bashing me too, hopefully.

Did any else notice that Cages role in Drive Angry was much more in line with what Ghost rider coulda/shoulda been...I mean the bad assery you get in drive angry is what GR shoulda been
