RUMOR: WB Moving On JUSTICE LEAGUE With David Goyer In Line To Direct?

RUMOR: WB Moving On JUSTICE LEAGUE With David Goyer In Line To Direct?

Has Warner Bros. finally locked down a director for their troubled DC team up flick? Just a Tweet from a reliable source on this so far, but click on to see what a "little bird" apparently told AMC's John Campea..

Sounds like Goyer is involved in some way, but like the man says, take it for what it's worth. Quite a few industry types seem to think this is very likely to be true though and that Goyer may also be writing the new script for the movie. I think just writing is far more likely myself, but we do know Warner Bros. have had some trouble signing a director up to previous incarnations of this project so who knows. It does make sense that Goyer would be brought on board Justice League though, as he has helped steer the studio to massive success with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, and is likely to do so again with Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel. Thoughts?

Interesting choice. I'm hoping that a DC universe happens. I just want it to happen right.

Goyer writing... Yeah

Goyer Directing..... Hell no.

JL needs an experienced director on board for a project this big.

I don't buy it. I can definitely see him tackling the script (and I'd be surprised if he doesn't), but directing it? Eh.

I give up on the JLA film. All we ever get are conflicting reports.

David Goyer has improved over the years, so seeing him being considered to direct should be an honor for him. But he is not fit in line to direct. I actually would not mind seeing Jonathan Nolan involved in some aspect.

Goyer can write, but best leave directing to Duncan Jones.

I guess Goyer is WB go to guy. Dark Knight series, Man of Steel series, Godzilla and possibly Justice League. And Starz just renewed Da Vinci's Demons for a second season. He's a busy guy.

Even if Goyer does write this, and as much as I'm looking forward to Man Of Steel, and even if MOS IS the first solo film in a DC Movieverse, I still can't get excited for a Justice League movie. I really don't have any faith in it.

Goyer is a definite yes for writing. As director I will wait and see. Im not buying anything until a formal announcement. Though I'd like this to see this happen.

I know we're getting a Justice League film, due to Man of Steel looking amazing. Can't wait to hear more.

@Ocelot

Actually Wesley Snipes [frick]ed up Blade 3. Apparently he was impossible to work with, want numerous changes done to the script and barely came out of his trailer. Goyer had to use Snipes stunt double more than Snipes himself. The only time snipes is actually being filmed is close ups of him, every other time it was a stunt double.

Still, not my first choice, but at least he is really passionate about the project. Also, I'm sure he won't be doing it alone.

RFBD No, it was Goyer because even Kris Kristofferson didn't like the direction Goyer was going with the third Blade movie.

Let's just add this article to the bullshit pile of other articles regarding JL. Seriously, this has to be the most rumored about non-movie since Argo!

Goyer is good when he's working with someone who knows they're shit I.e. Nolan and del toro. But when he's on his own he can be very hit or miss. I'm not against him writing because he can be great batman begins and TDK are perfect examples of that.

BigMikeReviews - 4/17/2013, 12:39 PM
Goyer's got a good eye for what a superhero structured story arc should be, the stuff in between that (such as dialogue) should be supervised by a better scribe like Jonathan Nolan... as far as directing is concerned, his track record isn't that good thus far. Blade Trinity.. and that thriller with the Chatwin kid? No.
HavocPrime
HavocPrime - 4/17/2013, 12:40 PM
He would be better writing it as thats his main strength.

Would rather see a Wonder Women movie before a JLA film, get the trinity on the big screen first, then the rest.

Umm tell me why the [frick] would they want Goyer to direct when Synder obviously is a visual genius????
blueballs
blueballs - 4/17/2013, 12:40 PM
Goyer is actually a pretty decent director, but as a writer hes great for the first draft but certainly needs help polishing the script, like what Johnathan Nolan has done to his batman begins-Man of steel scripts.
thats my observation anyways

WorstUserNameEver - 4/17/2013, 12:41 PM
The only reason Zack Snyder isn't set to direct this is maybe he/WB wants him to stick with the MOS stand alone series only.

Goyer should not direct... and as others have said above should not write alone, he needs to be leashed.

Left field choice but given the success that TV show head honchos seem to be having (Abrams, Whedon et al) how about Ronald D. Moore... Battlestar is the shiz!

They need snyder to direct..
Imagine the visuals of that squid thing from the trailer and imagine it as a white martian from the justice league series..
I can totally see it happening

it's just a rumor. Nobody at WB would gamble with JLA movie and leave it into Goyer's hands.

He could write this movie, yeah.

But it will be either Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck (he's still on the radar, even if they didn't approach him) or some new, fresh choice.

As long as they take they're time and not push for an early release, I think this is AMAZING!!!
