UNCHARTED's Nolan North Reveals How He Landed A Role In STAR TREK 2

Nolan North is perhaps best known for voicing Uncharted's Nathan Drake in the hit Playstation 3 video game series. However, it turns out that J. J. Abrams is such a fan of the franchise, he gave him a role in Star Trek 2.

Talking to Eurogamer, Nolan North (best known for voicing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series of video games) has revealed how he managed to score a minor role in Star Trek 2. "I just worked on Star Trek 2 with J. J. Abrams. The reason I did that movie - it's a very small role - but it's because he and his son are huge fans of Uncharted. I met him doing some work on Super 8 and he said 'We're doing Star Trek, you wanna do it?' And I said I'd love to."

"He's a huge fan of gaming and he was telling me how people just don't understand [the medium] yet, but they're going to catch up,"
he added. "They don't understand how amazing this technology is and it doesn't get the respect it deserves, but if it keeps making the money it makes you're going to see more and more people converted. I mean, Gary Oldman, one of the greatest actors on the planet, did Call of Duty. He wouldn't have done it 10 years ago. It's a new age dawning, and I'm just really proud to be part of it."

Star Trek 2 (which is set to be released next May) is still shrouded in secrecy, so who or what North will be playing is unknown at this point. Be sure to click on the link below to read the rest of the interview.

He's right, people and Hollywood just dont see the potential of the gaming industry. There are tons of games which have great storylines that could translate well into a feature film (if done properly). The dedication of the developers and voice actors, like Nolan is immense. And the fanbase which alot like comicbook fans scour the internet for every scrap of news they can get. Video Games are a great medium of entertainment, people just need to take the industry more seriously.

That's very cool he got a part in such a huge movie.

Also, I had no idea J.J. Abrams was so into video games.

@JillValenfield Wow, I just looked it up on IMDB. I had no idea he voiced Raphael in TMNT.

It seems like a lot of TMNT fans didn't really like the movie. Personally, I really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the better TMNT movies IMO. But Michelangelo is my favorite ninja turtle. :)
