One Of Hollywood Rising Stars Has Expressed Interest On The SPIDER-MAN's Lead Role

It seems that the hunt for the next Spider-Man is far from over, meanwhile one of Hollywood most promising rising stars has showed interest on playing the role of Peter Parker. Discover who he is after the jump!

The search for the Spider-Man that will star along Captain America and Iron Man in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and his own SPIDER-MAN solo films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has barely started, and we have already seen the name of young actors like Dylan O'Brien, Logan Lerman, Donald Glover and Freddie Highmore among those who are been speculated or that would love to play the role. Well, here comes a new challenger since the 17-year-old HUGO and ENDER'S GAME star Asa Butterfield has expressed interest on playing Peter Parker in the big screen.

He was actually one of the first actors manifesting public interest in the role after the news that Marvel and Sony sealed a deal over Spider-Man, but that went unnoticed because he said that on Reddit.

At a Reddit asking that "now that Spider-Man is officially going to be part of the MCU...who should they get to play him?", someone suggested his name and he actually replied, since it's known that he is a reddit user that goes by the username Stimpers, here is what he said:

Asa Butterfield is an English actor and one of the youngest Hollywood promises, and after HUGO and ENDER'S GAME, he is playing an young math whiz coping with his emotionally and logistically complex mind  in the British independent Film Award nomidated X+Y. If Marvel and Sony are indeed looking for younger actors that could play a convincing high school SPIDER-MAN, it seems that he would be one of the obvious contenders, especially because the rumor is Marvel is looking for someone to play a 15-year-old Spider-Man.

What do you think? Do you think Marvel should give him a chance to audition for the part? Do you think he can be our next Spider-Man? Share your thoughts on the comment session below.

I wouldn't mind if he was playing him. After all he will grow up a lot 2 years from now.

Plus he's actually a teenager... for once we could see Peter as a teenager. Instead of a nigh 30 year old acting like a teenager.

He's my choice for Harry actually, but I wouldn't complain about this.

If Disney really wants underage Peter Parker, he is in that age group. Is he who I'd pick, no, but I'm not picking the part of Spider-Man. If I was Peter already would be married to MJ. That part of Peter's life hasn't been shown yet, high school on the other hand has been.

I can see him as either peter or harry but his name is so weird

Dylan would be cool, but he reminds me too much of Garfield.

If they are in fact going that young. Then he's the guy. I want Dylan Obrian but seems like he's not going to get it.

Wouldn't mind him being Peter Parker/Spiderman. He actually fits the criteria for Marvel Studios Spider-Man.

I still think Dylan O'Brien will end up being Spider-Man.

I'm now hoping that he gets the part, so I can see @MyloSteamwitz try and leave the planet.

Other than that, just cast Butterbean!!!!!

Butterbean, Butterbean
Does whatever a Butterbean does
Wider than tall, has no neck
Bears a passing resemblance to Shrek.
Look out! Here comes the Butterbean!

Ender's Game was great and Asa Butterfield would be great. He's very evil looking and maybe a bit too evil looking but i'd take him as Spidey any day. But, LOGAN LERMAN NO.1!!!!!!!!!!

No way..kid is too soft looking.
Peter is a science geek but as Spidey he's not a candy ass.
Dylan O'Brien has the right build, talent & personality.

He would have to bulk up for Spidey....

I still really like Logan Lerman for the role.... but I think they are going to cast younger

No he isn't the right actor, same as Chris Pratt isn't right for Indiana Jones. They would give a good performance but I want Bradley Cooper to play him. Just like I want Dylan O`Brien for Peter Parker.

Or they could become totaly epic by bringing back Tobey. He was/is amazing for Spiderman. He would actually be a good choice to join the Avengers, given his age. I'm sure they could bring in Spider-Women after he dies in Ifinity Wars.

I'm a fan of Dylan O'Brien, but they will run into the same issues they always have when it comes to SPIDER-MAN 2 & 3, the actor will be too old looking to maintain a high school appearance. Dylan O'Brien will be 24 this year.

Going with a 17 year old (who just so happens to be a FANTASTIC actor) is almost a no-brainer if what we've heard of their plans is true. I would love to see a teenage SPIDER-MAN in the hands of Marvel...wasn't that always the dream?

I would support this 100%...

...Asa Butterfield for SPIDER-MAN!
