The search for the Spider-Man that will star along Captain America and Iron Man in
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and his own
SPIDER-MAN solo films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has barely started, and we have already seen the name of young actors like Dylan O'Brien, Logan Lerman, Donald Glover and Freddie Highmore among those who are been speculated or that would love to play the role. Well, here comes a new challenger since the 17-year-old
HUGO and
ENDER'S GAME star Asa Butterfield has expressed interest on playing Peter Parker in the big screen.
He was actually one of the first actors manifesting public interest in the role after the news that Marvel and Sony sealed a deal over Spider-Man, but that went unnoticed because he said that on Reddit.
At a Reddit asking that "
now that Spider-Man is officially going to be part of the MCU...who should they get to play him?", someone suggested his name and he actually replied, since it's known that he is a reddit user that goes by the username
Stimpers, here is what he said:
Asa Butterfield is an English actor and one of the youngest Hollywood promises, and after
HUGO and
ENDER'S GAME, he is playing an young math whiz coping with his emotionally and logistically complex mind in the British independent Film Award nomidated
X+Y. If Marvel and Sony are indeed looking for younger actors that could play a convincing high school
SPIDER-MAN, it seems that he would be one of the obvious contenders, especially because the rumor is Marvel is looking for someone to play a 15-year-old Spider-Man.
What do you think? Do you think Marvel should give him a chance to audition for the part? Do you think he can be our next Spider-Man? Share your thoughts on the comment session below.
