Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Matt Letscher is set to return to The Flash as Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash next year. When we last saw him, his Harrison Wells identity had been wiped away after Eddie Thawne committed suicide, and Eobard was erased from history. So, with all that in mind, just how in the hell is the Reverse-Flash going to return? Executive producer Todd Helbing, who has written the episode featuring Letscher's return with Aaron Helbing, revealed: "His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger, forcing Barry to make a life-changing decision." The episode (the show's eleventh) is titled "The Reverse-Flash Returns", but his appearance sounds like something of a one off, so there could be a twist here. What's your theory? Awesome!! Looking forward to this! My guess is that he's probably gonna come after Cisco after what happened in the season 1 finale but that's just me

1: The actor confirmed he was coming back last year.

2: RF wasn't erased from history, because everyone can remember him and stuff he did still happened. It's more likely that the character who said he was being erased (Cisco?) was incorrect, and he was really just being pushed out of the space-time continuum at the point his existence could no longer be reconciled.

Zoom looks an awful lot like Black Flash. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers have him die, and have it so that his ghost takes on the role as the grim reaper of speedsters.

Since Barry never knew he was actually the Reverse Flash, it'll probably have to do with Barry seeing his face and knowing that he was the actual Reverse Flash and now he will no longer feel hate towards Harry every time he see's his face.

Nice, since everyone that met Earth-2 Wells treated him like garbage, even knowing that their "Wells" was Thawne end the real Wells was mummified under a bridge i was almost thinking everyone in that series forgot who the real one was, including the writers..

He could be Barry's ally in E2. Just as Well E2 is not the same, Thawne E2 may not be. He may have his powers l;egit from the future cosmic treadmill.

Awesome, but can we start calling him Professor Zoom? Reverse-Flash is kind of a stupid name, it makes me think of an overweight black woman running backwards incredibly slowly, and who is also dead.

Knew it, did you really think they'd kill the hero's archenemy in the first season? It will probably be like Malcolm Meryln, he'll somehow manipulate Barry into siding with him for a few seasons and then end taking back the role of "main villain" in the inevitable final season.
I'm really glad for this, the show's version of Eobard was way better than Zoom, who is really generic so far. Eobard> Meryln> Damian Dahrk> Captain Cold>every other CW Dc villain.

So, another character comes back to life? Seems like death is loosing its importance in CWverse. But this will be surely praised because its comic-booky and 'sticks to the source material' thing.

At this stage, I rather wish that they move away from the source material. Flash is doing 'lighthearted' tone in a very wrong way.
