AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. EP On The New Agents, Victoria Hand, Gravitron And More

Let's hope these agents are unique and fully fleshed out ACTUAL agents with actual experience and much more likeable than the others... At least on the likeability of Coulson or May

Here's to hoping it will continue to keep getting better with each passing episode and an overlapping story becomes more apparent... and hopefully a cameo of a superhero somewhere down the line

This show needs a leading character swap like the one that happened at the end of the first season of Stargate Atlantis, where they swapped out Rainbow Sun Francks and inserted Jason Momoa. during the first season even though they had Teyla as an outworld character in the team it got a real edge when they brought in Ronan Dex.
That change was quite well done and dramatic that the show got a great uplift. Need something like that in Agents of Shield as well. Maybe get a gifted person as a member of the team.

Wha, what? Sorry, I fell asleep. What's going on?

I was really hoping this show would be more CSI and less Austin Powers. I honestly would never watch it if it didn't have the Marvel name attached to it. Would anyone? Seriously, am I the only one who thought we'd get superhero cameos and appearances in this? However, we are getting the Hanna-Barbera version of the Marvel Universe. I'm half way expecting the following image to show up at some point.

Problems needing solving:
1. Too episodic - where's the overarcing story?

2. "This is the story of ordinary people dealing with extraordinary circumstances" - These people aren't iike anyone I've ever met. They don't feel 'real' at all, let alone ordinary. Nor are they exceptional for that matter. They're cardboard cut-outs, stereotypes and cyphers.

3. Skye must die - Why is she there? She's not 'us' - she lives in a van, but has perfect hair and skin and doesn't stink. She's supposed to be uber-smart yet she doesn't seem to understand the concept of what an intelligence agency does. She's a total liability and friction causer, yet is constantly given a pass by Coulson and the rest for no apparent reason. She adds nothing but an extra annoyance factor the show really could do without. She's pretty I guess, but that's just not a good enough reason to keep her around. Kill her. Kill her dead.

4. Being tied to the MCU seemed like a great idea, but instead of making the world richer, it seems to have tied their hands, restricting the show more than it enriches it. Marvel need to allow them more free reign to play in the universe and/or the team need to be sucked into another dimension where the restrictions can be ignored.

5. The tone is all wrong. Tonally they need to stop trying to be all things to all people. This isn't the movies (although trying to please all the people all the time is a dangerous path to walk at the best of times).

6. (snip) I realise I could be doing this for some time, so decided to stop there for now. It's depressing.

Show is getting better people. This one looks really good. And yes people like it, its the 4th most watched scripted TV show right now. I don't get how general audience that I talk to love this show but comic fans don't.

Sorry, the Marvel Uber-Nerd in me insists that you correct Graviton's name (it's not GravitRon, which sounds like a Transformer!).

I love AoS!

It's engaging, entertaining, and much to the shagrin of Arrow fans and DC/Nolan trolls, it's fun. Since when did having a fun TV show become a problem?

I love the fact that AoS doesn't take itself so seriously. It's light-hearted, and I can watch it with my 3 year old son without having to make him cover his ears or eyes to miss the profanity or nudity.

Don't get me wrong, I love profanity and nudity, but I'm happy to have a show on TV that my whole family can enjoy. The only two things I can get my son to watch on TV are AoS and hockey.(preferrably the Winnipeg Jets)

So, I really hope they don't change the tone of the show, and I hope they continue down the path they started on, as AoS is just, plain and simple, good TV. It's not going to compete with shows like Breaking Bad or Dexter in terms of scope and brilliance, but it's great as it is.

Wheden seems to have lost it as far as episodic television goes. It's been all downhill since Buffy.

@fortycals Word of mouth helps but I am telling you as soon as CW comes out of your mouth people stop listening. I know people do when I try and tell people about Arrow. Arrow is not just about name dropping, it has the best fight scenes on TV and some of the best action. Also with it's plot, foreshadowing and Season Big Bads it keeps you interested. With AOS the only reason I keep watching is to see if it gets better and it is slowly but hope of that should not be a reason to keep watching. I have said in other AOS posts it needs a Season Big Bad and more foreshadowing to some build up that is exclusive to the show not involving any of the movies, but still comes from the Marvel comics universe. Many shows have these Arrow, Chuck, NCIS, The Mentalist, Supernatual, and Walking Dead just to name a few.
