Sandra Bullock has got the thumbs up from Lynda Carter to play Wonder Woman.

Lynda, who played the superheroine in the 70s TV series, said the Oscar-winner would be the perfect choice to portray the Amazon princess in an upcoming film remake, dismissing claims "The Blind Side" star is too old for the role.

She told TV show 'Good Morning LA:' "There was an idea that Sandra Bullock would play Wonder Woman and I think it's a great idea - she's exactly the kind of personality."

She continued: "Somehow it got messed around that I had said she was too old. That's nonsense, it wasn't true. She's strong and feminine. And Wonder Woman has to be accessible."

Plans for the Wonder Woman film are still in development, with the film having a preliminary release date of 2011.
