Sandra Bullock has got the thumbs up from Lynda Carter to play Wonder Woman.

Lynda, who played the superheroine in the 70s TV series, said the Oscar-winner would be the perfect choice to portray the Amazon princess in an upcoming film remake, dismissing claims "The Blind Side" star is too old for the role.

She told TV show 'Good Morning LA:' "There was an idea that Sandra Bullock would play Wonder Woman and I think it's a great idea - she's exactly the kind of personality."

She continued: "Somehow it got messed around that I had said she was too old. That's nonsense, it wasn't true. She's strong and feminine. And Wonder Woman has to be accessible."

Plans for the Wonder Woman film are still in development, with the film having a preliminary release date of 2011.

Yeah she is too old. Maybe 10 years ago but not now.

She is too old to play an Amazon that doesn't age. I don't see her as a warrior. I know she can act, but everyone has a hit or miss point and I think this would be a miss.

I don't think she's too old. I just don't think she's the right type of actress for Wonder Woman. She's really more of an "aw shucks" kind of actress for the most part, and Wonder Woman needs to COMMAND respect at every turn.

umm.... play Lynda carter off keyboard cat
Just joking. I really don't care for Sandra. They (the studio) should go for a younger actress.

LOL, a 45 year old Wonder Woman. Awesome.

Plus, they could get her husband to be Ares. Already some bad blood established :)

No way.Lynda Carter played WW 33 years ago.Bullock is only 13 years younger than her.Bullock is currently 21 years older than Carter when she first started playing the character.Too old.Not attractive enough.Wrong actress.

Don't get me wrong, Sandra is getting hotter as she gets older, but Wonder Woman would most likely be an origin story that argues her age. The looks and the talent are a lock, but they need a younger Wonder Woman

I think Jodi Lyn O'Keefe could make a good Wonder Woman. In the roles I've seen her in, she seems to have this tough quality to her. But, she does have this mean look about her that makes her a good villain. If not Wonder Woman, she would be a good Cheetah.

I can see Bullock as a decent Lois Lane, but that's about it. And even then she's up there in age for that role.

@MovieTheaterLad

I just can't get behind the JODI LYNN O'KEEFE as WONDER WOMAN squad. That chick just looks too damn mean! She certainly has a strong presence, but surely she would make a much better villian!

@ASSASSIN

Perfectly said!

I actually think she could pull it off. If she were to bulk up a bit then, yes, she could be a great Wonder Woman.

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe may look alright in some pictures, but she looks older on film. When watching Prison Break I would have thought she was wee bit older than her actual age. Besides, she's too good of a villain. I think there are way better choices than her.

Oh Hell no!!!!! I don't think she could pull that off and besides she is too old, and in general I dislike her, I think she is overrated and not funny or good actress at all, just my opinion.

How about her:

Or maybe her:

Or even her:

Sandra is just way too old!

I don't know why some people don't like
Jodi O'Keefe! She is such a good actress
she made you all believe she is that bitch
on Prison Break! I've seen her play sweet
before and she was very sweet! What the hell,
she's an actress and she looks like WW and
she is a real-life kickboxer!
Tea@ this is one I don't agree with you on!

Zeta Jones is ancient too! Ha ha, look where
old man Douglas' eyes are zeroed in on! He may
be old there but he wasn't dead! lol

There are a lot of black haired actresses out
there...let's get this movie done Warners/DC!
For sh!t sakes Crap or git off the pot!!!!

I guess she would be right for a Lynda Carter type of Wonder Woman....but the character has evolved a lot
...and has become much more warrior-based. There's plenty of modern actors that could get away with a Adam
West Batman...but that was also a lifetime ago. That character has also evolved to a point where you
cant just do that. It needs to be more reality based....
What they did to Iron Man is a good example...
DDD
DDD - 3/28/2010, 3:34 AM
I didn't mean to say that only black-haired
actresses could play this part! Anybody ever
hear of hair dye and contacts! Almost any
statuesque actress could do her!

There's a good candidate that no one has
thought of who is 5'11" and built like a brick
house! Adrianne Palicki who played Kara, Superboy's
cousin in Smallville the first time. She was
also on Friday Night Lights, played Jared Padalecki's
girlfriend at the beginning of the SUPERNATURAL
series and in the movie, LEGION. She usually has blond hair.
