CONFIRMED: Hayley Atwell's 'Peggy Carter' Will Appear In ANT-MAN

It seems that we'll be seeing plenty of the lovely Peggy Carter in the Marvel movie/tv universe over the next while. An Ant-Man casting call has gone out for a stand in for actress Hayley Atwell, so that's pretty solid evidence that Carter will feature in the film!

This should make Peggy Carter fans very happy indeed. Not only will Hayley Atwell reprise the Captain America: The First Avenger role for her upcoming spin-off TV series, Agent Carter, but a casting call has gone out for body doubles and stand-ins in the Atlanta, Georgia area for Marvel's currently shooting Ant-Man adaptation, and guess who they're looking to cast a body double for?

"NLC is searching for an experienced stand in for Haley Atwell. She is 31, 5’7″, 112 lbs. This will work in November on a Sunday. Please submit to [email protected] with your headshot, age, height, weight and sizes. Must have experience. Thanks."

Peggy's name was mentioned along with Howard Stark, Armin Zola, and a young Alexander Pierce in a scoop from Latino Review back in August, so it's a safe bet those characters will make an appearance too. Apparently there's a scene in early drafts of the script which sees a young Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) meeting up with them at S.H.I.E.L.D., but that could very well have changed come shoot time. Ant-Man would mark Atwell's seventh appearance as Peggy Carter for Marvel, as she debuted in Captain America: The First Avenger, made a cameo in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, appeared in the season two premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and also had her own one-shot which led to her spin-off series being greenlit. Plus, she'll also pop up in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Not bad for a character who's over 90 years old now!
