CONFIRMED: Hayley Atwell's 'Peggy Carter' Will Appear In ANT-MAN

It seems that we'll be seeing plenty of the lovely Peggy Carter in the Marvel movie/tv universe over the next while. An Ant-Man casting call has gone out for a stand in for actress Hayley Atwell, so that's pretty solid evidence that Carter will feature in the film!

This should make Peggy Carter fans very happy indeed. Not only will Hayley Atwell reprise the Captain America: The First Avenger role for her upcoming spin-off TV series, Agent Carter, but a casting call has gone out for body doubles and stand-ins in the Atlanta, Georgia area for Marvel's currently shooting Ant-Man adaptation, and guess who they're looking to cast a body double for?

"NLC is searching for an experienced stand in for Haley Atwell. She is 31, 5’7″, 112 lbs. This will work in November on a Sunday. Please submit to [email protected] with your headshot, age, height, weight and sizes. Must have experience. Thanks."

Peggy's name was mentioned along with Howard Stark, Armin Zola, and a young Alexander Pierce in a scoop from Latino Review back in August, so it's a safe bet those characters will make an appearance too. Apparently there's a scene in early drafts of the script which sees a young Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) meeting up with them at S.H.I.E.L.D., but that could very well have changed come shoot time. Ant-Man would mark Atwell's seventh appearance as Peggy Carter for Marvel, as she debuted in Captain America: The First Avenger, made a cameo in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, appeared in the season two premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and also had her own one-shot which led to her spin-off series being greenlit. Plus, she'll also pop up in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Not bad for a character who's over 90 years old now!

I swear I read that she would be in the movie on the same article that revealed that John Slattery would return as Howard Stark in Ant-Man.

I can't find it now, though.

Love the cohesiveness of the MCU. I hope we get Bill Foster too.

Maybe we can a miniseries like Agent Carter that focuses on a young Hank Pym.

Idk why people would want to know what cameos are present in upcoming films. The entire point is to be a surprise to the fans. Cool nonetheless.

"Hanl Pym."

So we got Hope Van Dyne and now Hanl Pym. Ok.

But it's great that Hayley is coming back. Can never get enough of her and her two friends ;)

@Sipprelle

Good point bro, only reason why this one gets a pass for me is because of it was already announced months ago that they were looking for actors to play a younger PYM and etc and how there were going to be flashback scenes in regards to SHIELD in it's earlier years. But a "A familiar Agent joins Ant-Man" would have been a less spoilery title I suppose.

YEAH! I can't wait to see this film, I for one am all in for this film. I hope Ant-Man plays a bigger role in the MCU and isn't just a one and done

El Mayimbe is usually correct in his scoops around the same percentage that Devin Faraci and Badass Digest is.

Why do you think having a stand-in means she'll get some action?
Stand-ins aren't stunt doubles. Every actor gets a stand-in. They literally stand in the spot the actor will during a scene while the cinematographer sets the lights, camera, etc. which can take hours. This is why they need to be about the same height and size, along with matching skin and hair color.

He mcunos getting more and more cohesive. Love getting more cameos and pop ins for characters in movies. Atwell fits tv and film well. Crossover cameos are great. And she's jaw drop gorgeous lol

"if they're looking to cast a stand-in for Atwell it more than likely means Peggy will be seeing some action"

Stand-ins are not stunt actors. They are used to test lighting and set up shots so the actor isn't needed for the process. Stand-ins are cast to match the actors build and complexion so there are no discrepancies.
