When I heard that Netflix and Marvel were bringing Daredevil to the small screen, I couldn't help but grin. Now that I have finally watched it, I must say.. It's fantastic! There are so many other words I could use to describe it...

The characters were fleshed out, and I appreciate that greatly. Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil is excellent. He's funny, badass, quiet and a bit broken. The chemistry he and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson have is nicely done. The lovely Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page is great as well, along with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk? Brutal, sentimental, calm, and even broken himself. He has many layers to him, which make for a very good villain.

The fight choreography is awesome, no shaky cam or off putting editing, and the fight scene in the second episode (which I won't spoil) is one of the coolest fight scenes put together. It's very grounded, meaning no CGI, which is refreshing. The show is beautifully shot, having that "gritty" look.

The show overall is a great experience, and a huge step up over the 2003 Daredevil film, which lacked balance, although I thought Ben Affleck was pretty good in the title role.

Solid performances, great action and humor, and just a damn good show. I couldn't turn away, watching all the episodes in one sitting. I was satisfied, and cannot wait for the second season. I'd highly recommend it! Without a doubt this is one of Marvel's greatest achievements.

Must agree with blacksuited on this, five short ass paragraphs barely even counts as a review.

I agree 398273928%. This show is one of the best things Marvel has ever put on screen. I'm really anxious to see if Cox will appear in any of the future movies the MCU is doing.
I wish there was some way to squeeze him into Civil War some how, but it's pretty much too late, and the movie already has a huge cast. Although a DD cameo wouldn't hurt at all.

Why is this on the main page when @Nightwatcher @staypuffed and others can't get their legitimate news article on the main page?

Good review though.

This show is good. Both my wife and I like it..hell, my sister...who isn't a CBM fan...texted me to tell me she was into it. This is what a comic book show should be like, not that pathetic CW/AoS bush league stuff.
I haven't even finished the whole season, so hopefully it will remain as good as it is so far

honestly it's the perfect way for Comic book adaptations to come to life. Marvel thought of it first they deserve credit but now the only way comic books should be told to tell a complete story is Netflix. 24 episode tv shows like AOS or Arrow can do a lot but they also need a lot of filler and you have to make people want to watch after a break or the next episode. With netflix we have the ability to watch a story told exactly the same way with the same tone and pacing of great graphic novella's and novels. I'm so excited for the Defenders, the Heroes for Hire and hopefully a full slate of Netflix shows that will make us very happy and Netflix and Marvel and maybe 1 day DC a shit ton of money.

I think Fisk should have "Damaged" tattooed to his forehead. That flashback scene of him killing his dad wasn't straight forward enough.

But honestly, that episode was my favorite. Second is the red ninja episode... forgot his name already.

People can't get it both ways: Many people complain about the more fantastical elements of many of these superhero movies, yet when one is relatively realistic–like Daredevil–there are complaints about it.

How does that connect to the costume? The costume was treated like it should be, like body armor (and it looked it). The Daredevil movie had a better-looking costume, but that costume wouldn't absorb any impact from punches, never mind knives.

The Daredevil costume made sense from a tactical point of view (it's essentially red body armor) which is probably why it's so jarring for some.

Though as far as I am concerned, it looks good, though more importantly it makes sense.

I'm in agreement: Marvels best work thus far! Just imagining my favorite short-arc of the comic line, "DD vs. Spiderman," being made in the style of the series, is giving me goosebumps. Not that I'd estimate the series ever going that way...

As far as TV goes I think Marvel can do anything they wish concerning Spiderman despite their agreement with Sony. I could be mistaken and that only goes for animation, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe someone could clarify!

The way The Flash was done, wouldn't work for Daredevil, and vice versa. Both are great shows in their own right. Both are to my liking. And honestly, I'm just glad living at a time like this. (Well, comic adaptions wise. Politically wise ... not so much!)

Maybe I was expecting too much but I was a little disappointed in the show.
The fights last so long it was fun at first but then it was boring and they aren't often important to the plot. I'd rather see more Murdock and Nelson in court next time.

Anything is better than Josh's cr*p reviews. They don't deserve front page just because he's a super user.

Great series and now they need to bring it to the big screen. I would love to see Marvel or DC have a series/movie cycle where they have a season and then a month or so later release a movie, rinse and repeat.
