The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman – a/k/a Diana Prince – is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

Various details about the upcoming pilot have found their way online recently, but this is the first piece of major casting news we've gotten since it was announced that Adrianne Palicki would play the Amazonian princess. The pilot was written by David E. Kelley and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner.

UPDATE: Deadline now report that the actress wil guest star in the pilot as Veronica Cale, who they describe as: "the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy."

They also reveal that former Cold Case star Tracie Thoms will play Etta, Wonder Woman's always cheerful personal assistant.
