Remember a few months ago when CBM's own Freckles provided us with an exclusive look at the Captain America set in Hackney Empire, London and revealed that she'd seen an actor dressed as Adolf Hitler? (if not check them out by clicking HERE) Well, rumour had it that they were filming USO related scenes there, and it looks like they were recreating the iconic scene from Captain America #1.

Thanks to ToilesHeroiques on the SuperHeroHype forums, who revealed those details from French magazine "L'Ecran Fantastique" yesterday, for the further details revealed below. Remember, read no further if you don't want to see any spoilers!

***SPOILERS***

Steve and his friends continue the fight in the plant [to release Bucky], and this is when the film that we discover who is really Johann Schmidt: under a plastic mask imitating the flesh lies the facies Red Skull.

The armament and machinery will be important. Red Skull uses the cube to power these machines (huge tank, bomber).

There will be a quick montage with several missions of Captain America: for example the sabotage of a train of Hydra. Cap and his crew rappel down a mountain and atterrisent on the roof of the train.

In his show music hall (at Radio City Music Hall in New York), Rogers ended his show by hitting an actor dressed as Hitler (like on the cover of Captain America 1).

Further details: Steve Rogers is a mascot used by the military to sell war bonds (fund effert of war).

***END SPOILERS***

UPDATE

Here are some more spoilers that have just been posted, which give us a lot of interesting details about the upcoming movie. Read no further if you don't want to know!

It was after Steve manages to capture the murderer of Dr. Erskine, the army decides to use him as a mascot.

With its new physics, Steve became more confident in him, "a little show-off" (with the "media circus" around it), and it takes a little "big head". It finds its ideal in Europe, in contact with reality (Bucky prisoner).

About Hydra: "It was necessary that the creations [vehicles, tanks ...] have a modern look, because as you probably know [oh yes !], this organization has a tough life and is found implanted worldwide in our time as a terrorist network actively fought by Nick Fury and SHIELD agents "

Howard Stark in a laboratory: It uses a remote manipulator system to examine a tiny fraction of the energy of the cube. But it is improper handling and everything blows up (without serious damage because the room was shielded).

Directed by Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans in the title role, Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released in 3D on July 22, later this year!

Thanks guys! :P I always suspected that they'd do this as part of the USO stuff even before Freckles shared that info with us...him hitting the real Hitler might have been a wee bit ridiculous, so this is the perfect way of recreating it IMO. I love the idea of a montage as well - that shows that Captain America isnt just a one hit wonder whose "killed" on his first mission taking on the Red Skull. Fingers crossed for something like the one we saw in Watchmen. Right now, this is sounding like the best CBM of 2011!

I thought there could be a scene where Cap gets beat up and taken to Adolf Hitler. Then he breaks free, kicks ass and punches Hitler before he escapes. Darn.

awesome love the way they work that scene in to the movie, makes more sense too. and this proves that the nazis are in the movie, but not main villains obviously, so marvel has not replaced the nazis with hydra.
Bigbywolf
Bigbywolf - 1/5/2011, 6:33 AM
This sounds like a great idea. Having it in a USO scene is the best way to incorporate it I think.

Nice Josh. I am really digging the design of that French magazine layout of Captain America.

I wonder if perhaps Marvel will get into full swing with an "assembly" of promos of Thor and Captain America once The Avengers starts filming in a few weeks. That way, instead of only individually promoting these movies, they can time them together in one massive campaign.

Coldblood6
Coldblood6 - 1/5/2011, 8:57 AM
One of the keys to this movie being great and a success will be Cap's fighting / acrobatics with the shield. It needs to be innovative and cool but not ridiculous and unbelievable.

This is good, i was really hoping they would do that scene. It really doesn't get more American in comics than having the hero punch hitler
